Ice Station Macron

Given the number of posts about how cold it was yesterday, got to thinking: some buildings/stadiums are now heavily laden with solar panels. If they were installed all over the roofs at the macron, could they be used to power some sort of underseat warming system- eg blowing warm air.

Not trying to get to a barmy 20 degrees or owt daft, but just a bit to keep the blood flowing. Over the course of the year, would they create some revenue?

Life line, paperless season tickets, BSA and his sports science; time for another bwfc pioneering innovation.

  • I've done an SAS selection course and also done Hartlepool away on boxing day. Yesterday was not cold. Some folk need to toughen up a bit.

Very rarely have to ditch layers at The Reebok

Warmest ever? Least cold ever?

Nothing springs to mind

Palace away a few years ago was rather nippy.

Snow and a drab nil nil draw

I remember going to one of the Sheffield clubs for a midweek game and it was freezing, coldest I've known. Even the pies had frost on them.

Two things I remember ftom the Sunderland game..

1. It was fucking cold

2. There was a Bolton fan with a Newcastle hat on or it was a geordie in the away end and the Sunderland fans to the right was going ape.

And didn't it throw it down near the end?

Recent ish coldest I can remember being was Blackburn away when it snowed a fair bit think we got beat about 4-0 or something don't think we took that many. Think I'd come straight from a night out so was not prepared for the weather.

That was the first time me and Garrp went to The Horns.....he's been about 500 times since

Worst thing I remember about that Leeds game; tickets went on sale for Bradford in the cup that morning. Queued up for ages to get them then froze my tits off again at night

Sunderland way back when at Roker think it was Boxing Day think it was draw no idea what year it was but long time ago.

I've not the greatest of memories these days but IIRC the first half we had a biting cold wind battering us on the open terrace and then at half time the first song over the tannoy was "here comes the summer" by The Undertones

Once took two Aussies to a Leeds v Walsall FA Cup replay after showing them around York for the day.

They put us in that big stand in the very top tier with an icy gale blowing off the Pennines straight into our faces. Never been as cowd in me life.

Thought we'd lost the older of the two Aussies. He fell asleep and turned blue. Had to revive him with hot Bovril at half time and he sat in the car with then engine running and heater blowing for the entire second half. Softarses the lot of em.
