Two thoughts

1) Only 2500 people care enough about the Whites to join the ST

2) The ST is a non-entity and doesn't represent the majority of Whites supporters.

I know which I think.

And of that 2500, they couldn't find another person to stand for being a committee member? What was the criteria for eligibility to stand? I assume there was a criteria.

You had to be a paying member and have your application backed by three more paying members and you had to agree to attend a "meet the candidates" evening.

I considered running, but decided it was too much hassle.

They had to have an election, so they made it so that the group of 3 plus their mate Mike could still run this ego-driven vehicle.

And neither does anybody else.

The ST is irrelevant, the sooner they jack it in the better

It will be irrelevant until it becomes relevant, hopefully it wont ever be relevant as that will mean we are not in danger of going out of business. I am happy some folk out there are willing to keep it going in the meantime, just in case.

They don't have any money.

Hasnt stopped KA to be fair????

I like this Simon nightingale

Give the pricks some shit

They don't have any money.

It may be the only chance we have of saving the club should the shit hit the fan, it might only be the last chance saloon scenario but I would prefer that than nothing. I think we now know it is highly unlikely we are ever going to find any fucker interested in buying the club and putting serious money into the club and that the only viable alternative to that might be a community/fan owned club and if that is the case so be it rather that than go bust.

Ever?

Sounds a bit permanent

It does; though in fairness if nothing happens fairly soon it might be. Surely ken can't keep us bobbling along like this forever?

when did that happen?

That’s the point clubs been available for fuck all for a long time and it’s not happened and not been close.

Hopefully we become a bit more attractive as we reduce our liabilities (mainly continue to reduce the wage bill) - although I'm not holding my breath for a saviour to come to our rescue in the immediate future

Surely we must jettison some players in January, even if it means loaning some out and seeking a contribution to their wages.

Think the West Ham lads will be sent back.

We've got dervite and derik, so I'd agree, if they're not playing then no point in having them.

According to ken we’re losing 500 k a month given our revenues I’m not sure what we can afford but it sure as hell isnt a championship standard team.

It’s possible to operate on our budget-see Brentford and Barnsley for examples but to survive we need to be a selling club generating £5m per season by player trading, developing young players from either our academy or from lower leagues/Scotland/Ireland

This. Big clubs turning the heads of youngsters then hoarding them doesn't help though.

Its possible short term but long term given our Revenue we’re going to struggle without additional funding.

We had Derik and dervite at the start of the season and the 2 West Ham lads still got signed up.

It's OK saying that, but who would really want to take any of our players on loan?

I think, if we can, then the West Hammers will be sent back.

Amos seems to be having a decent season at Charlton, so hopefully they'll take him off our hands on a free transfer at some point, as he's still the highest paid player at the club, even though it's highly likely he'll never play for us again

Correct, we either need some funding in place, or we may have to get use to playing in the bottom couple of divisions for a reasonable period of time.

Fingers crossed that some funding will be incoming, as clearly we still have huge money worries, and a relegation (if we do go) certainly won't help matters
