I think most of us would prefer that to happen

Problem is she comes over here and we will spend hundreds of thousands if not millions keeping her safe for the rest of her days. I cannot see how we have any obligation to keep her safe. Bring her back say there you go love there’s your citizenship and there’s a ton now toddle off you’re on your own.

it would be sorted within a week or two. She gets what she wanted her citizenship and we get what we want and save millions. Everyone’s a winner.

How would any wannabe assassins recognise her though? 🤔

Sickening 😁

Wonder if she'll arrive huddling another bundle of rags?

As for Greta and other climate change activist, i would sooner look at the positives, my 14 yr old daughter was doing a project on it at school and she was going down the route of Greta and her science experts, i sat down with her and pointed out that there are 2 sides to the argument and its aslo worth researching and writing about both sides of that argument, which she did and was congratulated it on it. I don't want her being brainwashed by the Media and the Greta bandwagon.

Fair play fella.. I agree with that kind of balance in education & I'm not surprised she was congratulated on it.

As long as the other side of the argument didn't involve Jeremy Clarkson or being saved by carbon capture 😉

Donating to all those organisations doing positive things...

So much for being a naive girl who knows jack shit.

How does that show she’s not naive ? I get you’re trying to make a point about her as you like her but her giving money away shows fuck all about what she knows nor does it mean she’s not naive

Because of the specific organisations she chose to donate to.

The Amazonia Fund does some amazing work for those on the frontline of the climate crisis. And the Stop Ecocide foundation has genuine potential to hold governments & companies to account who break pollution laws & don't meet Paris targets. Greta is no saviour & she shouldn't be painted in that way - but by choosing these organisations she seems to demonstrate a decent understanding of how we can curb emissions.

As you would expect from one of the worlds most prominent climate change activists? Or am I missing something?

Do you think she's chosen those organisations herself or would her advisers have something to do with it ?

Genuine question.

I expect she's chosen them herself.

If I'd have been her adviser I'd have been telling her to keep the fucking lot - and charge her a 5% advisers fee for the privilege.

Not a bad answer fella 😂😂👍

You asked me why I thought her donating the prize money showed she wasn't naive. I said it was because of the nature of the organisations she chose to donate to & the work they do...

Do you think she's naive on the climate crisis?

No. I’ve never said she was.

I would say so aye. I'm sure she's been told about other organisations making a difference by others.

Does she even have advisors? Thought that was just a myth written in the DM last year.

Anyone who has the ability to generate revenue like she can will have “advisors”. Let’s make no mistake. She is a business

Well sir, you are incredibly naive 😂😂

A bit of naivety perhaps on behalf of the awarding panel?

She mobilised the youth. Perhaps. Good on her for trying and doing what she believes in.

However, evidence abounds at the moment that much of the youth frankly doesn't give a fuck.

Rubbish strewn beaches and countryside from ravers and such like doesn't paint a picture of a new, green generation.

Not blaming Greta, and good on her for donating the money, but society at large and the government through better enforcement and far stiffer penalties will be more effective at turning the tide.

Turning the tide  ?

I see what you did there sir 👍

Apathy & not giving a fuck is prevalent in all generations. But as you say, good on her for showing that some youth do care about these things.

As for your last point - I agree , as does Greta judging by who she donated to. She never claimed to be the solution. Stiffer penalties are the key.

Anyway - how did we end up debating Greta on a terror attacks thread 😁

You get a buzz off this don't ya 😆

For starters I didn't say she didn't have advisors. I asked you. She's huge so I have no doubt she needs advising in all sorts of manners such as security & media appearance. But the idea that she's being advised on what to think & who to support doesn't cut it with me.

Have you got any proof of how she operates & who advises her.

As for her being a business - despite having a net worth - there's no evidence to suggest she's making profits. She's using the money donated to her to do the opposite. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cnbc.com/amp/2020/02/21/greta-thunberg-sets-up-non-profit-with-alternative-nobel-prize-money.html
