I also find it weird that people seem to be wound up by her. Also, as you've said above, I'm not sure that it really works to compare the two girls

I did hear somebody on the radio, and it might have been James O'Brien, saying something along the lines that if Shamima at 15 years old knew exactly what she was doing, then so surely must some of the Rotherham girls who were being groomed, who were also 15 years old at the time......................(I wasn't really listening, but it was pretty outrageous, and I think he was pointing out that grooming had a massive brain washing influence))

Well exactly - it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out.

If the point they're trying to make is that no 15 year old girl is capable of making an informed decision - then they're self evidently wrong.

If the point they're trying to make is that if Greta Thunberg is capable of making an informed decision at 15 - then by extension Shemima Begum must also have been - then they're wrong unless they've done some sort of in depth competency assessment which suggests otherwise (which they haven't).

If the point they're trying to make is they're both as bad as each other - them they're just being ridiculous.

The weired thing is, kids can divorce their parents, it seems like kids rule and know everything, but when it goes wrong for them, they can cop out and say "we are just kids, its not our fault".

Have you been smoking spice while watching 'Children of the Corn' or something?

Not quite getting your point, but i assume your just being your normal cunt self.

I like it when thick people get angry because they don't understand something.

As for Greta, she knows jack shit and the worlds media have used her and bigged her up, she needs to look at all the positive things the world has done over the last 20 years with regards to climate change, and initiatives and technologies that are still going on and contributing to change.

The tweet was shite mate, no offense like, you didn't write it. Firstly Greta never claimed to be a climate expert, she's said all along to listen to the science.

Her decision to protest from was based on overwhelming evidence that we are heading for a catastrophic 3-4 degrees of warming & aren't doing anywhere near enough to curb it. That's not an opinion or an ideology, that's reality. But yes, people are doing positive things, since becoming more famous she's made time to meet those people, but from your post it seems you've ignored that.

Shamima's decision to leave was based on indoctrination & grooming into a fucked up ideology. Her 'beliefs' were never rational or based on reality. I doubt she's ever had much of a voice in her close minded community & I doubt she's been educated in a way to respect other communities. For the record, I don't think we should let her back. If she regrets her decision, then let's see her educating her children differently & supporting other oppressed women in her community. Then maybe further down the line we can look into it.

Comparing her decision & circumstances to Greta's, just because they were both 15, serves no purpose other than to make the fella who tweeted it look like a muppet.

Yeah, but his #BritainFirst twitter mates told him to hate her, so he has no choice. He doesn't know why.

She was 15 and knew right from wrong, she did what she did and must pay the consequences of her actions, how old were the Bulger killers and hey were suitably punished at such a young age, the law is there for everybody not just as and when it suits you

Fuck me - we're back to this load of old bollocks again. For about the 10th increasingly boring time on Wanderersways.

Can't be arsed going through it all again. Can someone else do the honours?

Totally agree. Try her as constituted by British law 👍

I would do it by video link then she doesn't have to travel a wasted journey

If that's acceptable by British law then I'm all for it! 👍

She does tend to wind up a certain demographic 😀

It was a decent comparison, based on that they are both 15. You can provide arguments that some 15 yr olds are more advanced for their age, you could apply that argument to any age group. The tweet i put up was based on age, he has a valid point, you may not agree, doesn't mean he is wrong, he's just making a point.

Greta is a climate change activist who states experts opinions and takes the experts at their word, she doesn't seem to look at the other side of the argument as i pointed out, this can also be applied to political & sports opinions.

People have opinions, unfortunately some on here seem to think because it differs from theirs that they are thick, and sometimes on the basis of a spelling error.

It was a shocking comparison mate. One is a climate activist & one was indoctrinated by a fascist ideology who went to join a war...

Just because you've found a similarity in age doesn't make it a good comparison. Anyways, you're unlikely to admit it was, especially after you thought it was brilliant, so no point going in circles.

The other side to Greta's take on the experts is that we're doing enough & we don't need to change... Not sure there's much to look at with those taking that stance pal. Don't blame her for not really engaging.

Wound up? I fell asleep.

Face like a bag of spanners when she starts preaching. Drop the 'environ' and you're getting close.

We learned this during the Brexit debate. Hard to believe that the thick owd racists got the result eh?

I’m surprised you’ve engaged on the topic pal. It’s pointless.

It's not pointless if you put forward a rational argument as opposed to a badly thought out meme that someone else wrote.

Are we not allowed to challenge what people say on here anymore?

Snowflake alert! :)

All this “Trial under British law” is ok but I thought she’d been stripped of her Britishness by the Home Office.

She has been, but aren't they currently trying to decide if they were allowed to do that or not, and it's being looked at if the Home Office can actually strip her citizenship - I think it's illegal to strip somebody of citizenship and leave them stateless. I think we were, at one point, trying to suggest that she had dual citizenship with Bangladesh, so we could palm her off there, but apparently she's only got British citizenship, so it looks like we might be lumbered with her, sadly.
