A chap I know got mugged & a bit of a kicking at the same place, at about the same time about a month ago.

 

He said they were white teenagers though, so not the same ones by the sound of it.

I have every sympathy with Jays Lad. Likewise I believe from His mother the other children have experienced similar at the hands of white folk. That won’t fit the agenda though will it.

We've had this debate before - if terrorism has to have a political or religious goal then not all folk attacking Muslims are acts of terrorism, yet they get labelled as such.

 

I see why, but the term gets used far too conveniently these days; which, imo, isn't a great idea long term.

Terrorist is a dangerous term. Jews that fought back against the Nazis were termed terrorists.

 

Not really sure how you definitively label a terrorist/non-terrorist in today's times. Certainly if you're attacking Muslims cos you don't like Muslims that is a terrorist act. But then its never that clear cut.

if you get held up at knife point by some smackhead who wants your cash and phone to pay for their next hit, you wouldn't consider it a terrorist act

 

at worst it's a hate crime, but there's not been anything to suggest that either

 

gangs of asian lads targeting white lads in smaller numbers  (and vice versa) ((and white on white)) went on in bolton back when I was a kid, and in those days terrorists were Irish

 

so it wasn't considered a terrorist act then, and it shouldn't now

If folk attack Asians simply because they're Asian, or whatever, then that is a racially motivated hate crime (if I understand those terms correctly)  I wouldn't  class that as terrorism.

 

If folk do the above as they want all Asians out of the country and say as much - a la the Oirish back in't day - then it would be terrorism.

 

Like bwfcfan5 says, the term terrorist will always be subjective but it concerns me when authorities use it as liberally as they do nowadays.
