  • Been to Plymouth but not seen us.   Feels wrong to count it.   I think it was Plymouth 5, Leeds 4   Settle for that a week on Sunday

If you had spent less time checking him out and more time fighting it might have been you dishing out the coal shovelling rather than receiving it.

I remember beating Liverpool 4-1 and thinking we were the dogs

Was that when we won promotion to the top flight, and lost in a cup final, or the season when we reached qtr finals of fa cup?

Fairly indicative tbf :-D

Agree with Gonzo getting Madine 2 is a priority , cant be impossible to find one surely ?

We relied on set pieces and morais' 69,000 crosses in to the box a game last season.

Can't see parky changing tactics this season.

If folk think Armstrong/Alf are going to start playing off the shoulder feeding off through balls I think they are going to be disappointed.

Hence the need for target man to replace Madine. Not knocking the Armstrong signing but we need back up for Madine more than anything if we are going to set out like we did last season not to get beat.

Aye.....I don't know if Parky would change tactics, but it isn't an option for us anyway since we don't have a midfield player who can spray passes around & create chances, & we certainly don't have the money to go out & buy a ready made player who can do that for us.

Also agree that a target man will be crucial to the way we will play  - it's not going to be pretty, tippy tappy, but will be crosses, long ball ( hoofball..boooo ) & working to create set pieces -  & since it's very, very unlikely that we can get better than Madine for nothing, I'd bet that Madine will be first name on the team sheet when fit,  & any target man signing will be cover for him & not a replacement.

how injured is Morias? he's had zilch pre-season so not expecting to see him lining up against the sheep-shaggers.

Agree va va et al.

Can't see it advisable or likely that Parkinson would change our system. Bearing in mind how we performed without Madine in the team at the end of last season, I thought a back up for him would be the first priority. Perhaps the man they are hoping for will take a while to land.

One mystery to me is that we have played one up football since Allardyce and we haven't brought anyone through the Academy that looks like a decent prospect one up man in all that time. The u-23's played tip-tappy from the back football all last season and they let the only remotely big lad up front, Newell, go.

Isn't the aim to produce lads who can easily fit into the first team system?

This Stephy Mavididi at Arsenal is supposed to be able to play on his own up front.

Last I read he was more likely to be going to Wigan.

Yep. Not too bothered by style so long as you have players who can make it effective and successful.

Kyle Bartley - centre back?

Captained their reserve team, went up to Rangers I think then a season at Swansea in the Prem and now at Leeds

How did Bruce play ?

He played in a back three I presume; get nothing for a pair.

What rating did the Ben give him?

Does it count?

Does it count?

I would count it but I know some of the purists wouldn't.

Some don't count them if they don't see the full 90, heard of some who don't count a ground if it ends 0-0, too!

Does it count?

Yes friendlies do count

How can it not count if you've seen a game played there

Standing outside a ground doesn't count, going in and watching a game does
