End of the day nobody knows what is going to happen. It’s a massive gamble we’ve taken as a nation but we will only know if it’s paid off in the future and I think it’s best left as a debate until we actually see what has happened rather than projecting and speculating

Well mate, that rules out ST and his Negative Ninny State 😊

I reckon the economy would rocket if folk spent lass time theorising or trying to justify their profit of doom stories, or indeed stopped spending so long searching for them and re-posting them. Far more time doing productive things.

Same here R.

I also dont know why folk spout about future economic forecasts re the EU as it won't exist in another decade.

No mate I hear you.

but use an example. Coy turns over 10m drops to 6m After brexit but then 5 years later is doing 20m by exporting all over the world. They won’t get back the 4m they lost in year one post brexit but if you total the cumulative numbers post that point it shows a positive outcome  and they’ve recouped them exponentially

But that is still £4m they have lost for good and that is the crux of my point. The growth may well come from new markets that they have won or not who knows what the future holds

I think we are agreeing but one from glass half full and on glass half empty Perspectives mate. I see the loss as a necessity to achieve more than would have been achievable with the status quo. You see it as lost revenue and a huge risk which to you is unpalatable. That’s what makes the world tick different views and opinions (when sensible) and no issue with your views as always pal

But the future may only be so much better because of the shift in the first place.

Of course no one knows the future; but you've been telling us for years it's going to be far worse.

We've been through this many times.  Shall i upload the oft repeated posts of the deep economic recession, 500k IMMEDIATE JOB LOSSES etc.

The list is endless.

Listen mate, if you're that worried,  have you given thought on moving and living in what remains of the EU ? Serious question.

well i am entitled to my opinion or is that privilege taken away from me now we are leaving? I have long maintained that leaving the EU will make us poorer as a country than if we had voted to remain and there is nothing that I have read or watched that has changed my opinion. I truly hope I am proved wrong and I have happily agreed to retire from the thread if in 5 years that is proved to be the case.

you asked for proof of our slowing economy and I have given you that. As for moving when did I say that I would? I am perfectly happy living where I am thank you. I have my opinion and I am entitled to express it just like you are. I am happy to argue my point and i am sure you will too😃

So we are no doubt, this is what it said

UK GDP grew at 0.6% in the 12 months to November, the Office for National Statistics said today (13 January), down from 1% in October, representing the slowest annual growth rate for more than seven years.

Also highlights that October figure likely inflated with business brought forward from November. Anyway time to switch off. Enjoy the debate chaps

Nice diversion Peter ......And once again you avoid the issue of me, so called accusing you of saying you were going to living in the EU.

Think I'll now join Bolty in filtering certain folk on here.
