In the posts I also outline that there is an issue with using one narrow narrative to craft a whole ideology, which does become dangerous and misleading. There's no ideology. conservatism is a philosophy, not an ideology. Indeed conservatism is a bulwark against ideology - drawing on the experience of history to make rational, pragmatic judgements as regards the future. That's a world away from censorious, wokeists with their identity politics and victim culture. If you want an ideology - that's an ideology. I know and appreciate that such trends do not represent the whole of the Labour party or its support. However there is too much of it in the modern day Labour Party and too little of it among the residents of the streets, groves and avenues of England to ever get Labour a majority on that basis. Labour therefore needs to change. It needs to become socially more conservative and a million times more humbly respectful of people's views. Quote

Now come on where have I said that? I thought better of you than to try and fabricate what I’ve said. I’ve said nothing of the sort. of course there would be job losses and life as we know it would change in the short and maybe medium term. But I don’t see that happening and don’t see any signs of our government wanting that if I’m honest. Quote

From what I think you’re saying; read the polls and surveys They have been posted on here a few times Quote

But Brexit hasn't happened yet so when we get to the 1st January 2021, we leave without a trade deal and in the months/years thereafter there are no job losses as a direct result of brexit then I will hold my hands up. I just hope you are right Edited January 21, 2020 by Salford Trotter Quote

I left that career before the referendum of 2016 👍🏼 Quote

And whilst I really don’t want to go back and do what I used to previously I probably would do as I would earn double what I do now. Winners and losers. But I would much rather everything is ok and we leave in an orderly fashion. I quite like my job and my life as it is now tbh Quote

You are right it is a philosophy, so why do you insist on inverting it and using its lowest common denominator to push your ideological stance against centrists? You talk about respect, and offer none, you talk about compromise but only on your terms, you discuss social liberalism and display none of its tenets. This might be why some people find your stance increasingly dogmatic. There are very few extremists on this site, the self awareness you request from others might also be something you wish to display so that you can move on from an intrenchment you see ill equipped to navigate your way out from.
