Thats fine, and good, but id like kore statements on popular programmes - like a this morning. Its not for going on there as the viewers number as small but the cut through from social that programmes like this do after is still huge. As we see on here.

I worry they think a tweet and a Today programme interview works.

We need to see the person. Blair - whether you like him or not - was a genius at this sort of stuff. We need that now.

He was a brilliant politician.

He fucked up big time cosying up to W.Bush.

But we went to war with Parliaments approval, which is something many Tories (now Reform) seem to forget.

Why do folk bemoan the amount high profile politicians earn?

They're running the country and qualified out of their brains.

If anything they don't get paid enough.

Not sure Rayner is that qualified TBF, or most of the labour front bench. While politicians wages don’t seem that high they always seem to come out of it pretty wedged?

If you could earn extra money you would, surely?

I get paid (not much by the way) to write articles for industry publications. It’s easy enough and so long as it isn’t detrimental to my employer is perfectly acceptable.

Footballers earn plenty from advertising razor blades and watches, what’s the difference?

I suppose it depends how they’re earning their money.. If it’s ethical and not interfering with their job then they can crack on. Not 100% sure that’ll be the case with some though.

The difference is pretty obvious. Politicians are elected by us and their salaries are paid directly by us (whether we voted for them or not) to do things that should benefit us. I would increase MP salaries and ban all forms of additional income.

Probably in some cases.

Depends on your viewpoint. Should public office be a platform for this type of income?  Hard to say really, but it’s murky for sure.

And most of them do that job.

I tend to agree with you that they shouldn’t gain any other advantages, but in a free society, you cannot stop someone from earning a crust once they’ve left the position.

Like I say, it’s murky. Can see both sides of the argument.

Remove the murkiness. No additional income on top of a decent MP salary. Never going to happen of course, but we can all dream. Once they've left their elected position, they can do what they want. I can't really see the other side of the argument. Lobbying politicians should be a criminal offence of the highest order. They're supposed to serve the electorate, not some greedy rich cunts.

Agree about lobbying.

Nobody should be forced to eat that fucking joyless peasant grub.

They're all champagne socialists with their noses in the troughs, at least with the Tories you knew they were wealthy upper class bastards 😐

Correct. It is the duping by these red bastards which is reprehensible (and has always been so).

Still, the numb and the gullible like to raise a fist and sing the red flag. Makes them feel pertinent. Like Spider.

I am loving the Conservatives getting their knickers in a twist over a bit of stamp duty fiddling considering their recent history of sheer corruption.

You know full well it isn't 'knickers in a twist' but simply political expediency.

You can't expect any opposition to miss an opportunity to bale in on something like this - especially those your delightful potty mouth has labelled 'Tory scum'.

I'll just be pleased to see the repulsive specimen crash and burn and retire to live in undeserved comfort near Volks' railway.

Representing the UK on the international stage. He has to get completely accustomed to it because he'll have to do it for years after the 2029 GE.

I genuinely hope Angela Rayner doesn't get potted. Think she's a great politician but how daft can someone be.

Utter madness really but hope she survives it.

We are polar opposites on this one matey. Thick as mince for my money.

Only there next to the Master U Turner because she is no threat to his position. Similar situation with Reeves. Surrounding himself with idiots makes him look far better than he actually is.

Corrected for you.

Unless you believe him that the UK is actually like North Korea.

There are shortages of some basic items, but it's more because Monteiths Crushed Apple Cider and Pantherella socks just aren't in demand. Trifle remains plentiful.

The UK is like North Korea because a bunch of divorcees and mentalists on Twitter tells him it is.
