What are your client base predicting?

Massive tax hikes.

Banks not safeguarding money to £85k.

Captial gains tax on places of residence.

They're coming after pensions even further.

Etc etc.

Granted I've been in a room full of estate agents and housing dudes.

Aka Public School Tory Bum Chuffers :)

I don’t think that Rayner will survive this. I reckon she might be gone within a week. The press (particularly the Telegraph) have a few more grenades to lob in yet, I suspect.

Aye.

On a human level, I have some sympathy, in that IF she has genuinely been given bad advice, then it's a bit rough.

That however does lead to further questions.

Other factors at play though; optics, living and dying by your own sword, competence etc.

If she does go, her legs will be missed. But not her gob.

I have a relative currently in that situation, so I'll try and find out.

Interesting leader in today's Guardian advising Reeves:

"It's time for politicians to let voters, not traders, decide what counts"

"Rather than the self imposed arbitrary constraints... the Labour Party should be bold and get rid of them altogether"

Have they been reading my posts? Reeves needs to park her slavish dedication to her fiscal rules.

Is she still an MP, I thought she got binned at the last election?

Nope

She's just trying to stay relevant

However, it is important to note that this exemption is applicable solely to married couples or those in civil partnerships. Couples who are not married or not in a civil partnership do not qualify for this exemption. Therefore, they would be subject to SDLT on any property transfers made in such circumstances.
