“The decision to grant citizenship would have been made by the Home Office, which at that point was led by Priti Patel, advised by the Foreign Office, where Liz Truss was foreign secretary and James Cleverly was the minister for the region.

Successive Tory prime ministers have also called for Abd el-Fattah, to be released and reunited with his family, including Rishi Sunak who said it was “a priority” for his government in November 2022.”

I drank nearly a full bottle of absinthe once. At the time, I thought it was the best thing I’d ever done.

Im still sorry 20 years later.

And I sincerely mean it.

Have they admitted it?

Philp said he didn't know, not seen anything from Patel and Jenrick just seemed to be his shit stirring opportunist self

Nothing from Sunak either

I dont do X but from what I've read in other news there's been no mention of it

Fair play to him

So that's one so I assume there's more as you said members

Id assume you’re right. I’d be more concerned about members of the PMs own party calling him out.

Well it took Jenrick four years to do it so Starmer has time on his side

When you said 'members' I took that to mean the plural sense rather than one

Are the ones involved in the original decision saying much?

Apart from Philp, the Immigration Minister at the time, who says he didn't know

But i would expect nothing else from him

Yes members as in more than one. It’s in the news that you said there’s no mention of it.

When did this mon make his comments, and when did they come to light?

All this he said, she said is utter bollocks.

If plenty of politicians thought it reasonable to offer him sanctuary initially, then maybe there was a case.

The revelations have been brought to attention now, and therefore it is the responsibility of the current government to deal with it.

It is also the job of the official opposition to push them to do so.

Doesn't matter which party is in office and which is in opposition.

Just send the cunt back, and revoke his citizenship. Simple.

Oh, make no mistake, things like this are absolute manna from heaven (proper Christian heaven, where Englishmen don’t attend but like to wave crosses around anyway).

For what it’s worth, I’d volley this Egyptian cunt straight into the English Channel and make him swim home.

Its the empty headed hypocrisy from Farage and his chums that makes me realise what a shower of wankers they really are.

Surely you can see the hypocrisy from Starmer?

He needs to reverse the decision.

If he does, happy days. If not, it’s his first real fuck up.
