They have scrapped Polys and renamed colleges Universities. This has not improved quality at all , in fact I would argue it has dragged standards down.

Aye, I went Sheffield Hallam which was an ex poly

Got on a software engineering degree via two e's and a c at sixth form

There were folk on my course who hadnt even completed their GCSEs

Got a 2:1 but in hindsight they made it very easy and when I got my first job alongside folk who had done similar degrees at "higher standard" unis off the back of better a level results it was clear that I'd had it much easier and ended up with the same if not better result on paper, all to get on a graduate scheme where the criteria was based on results

Not that I'm complaining, it set me on the path to where I am now and uni was just as much a life experience as it was educational

I don't blame anyone for wanting to go, just a shame folk have to pay so much to try it

You didn't get a degree then?

I see Starmer is changing the narrative from Mandy/Epstein, immigration and the economy:

"Politics of Fear" is when leaders manipulate public anxiety by exaggerating threats to persuade voters, "New" Labour did it previously with a dodgy dossier.

Can someone tell him we can't afford this tactic please?

Quite right too - and I’m not a Reform supporter.

Farage saying we took it to court and won

It never made it to court

Keir listened to his advisors, for once, before performing yet another u-turn.

Whatever the specifics, the threat was enough.

Maybe he is scared of having to reveal what advice they got initially, and why they ignored it, if it is still the same now.

Still, got enough on his plate from all the other shit, as well as this dodgy think tank, spending thousands to smear journalists.

Someone in the Observer yesterday compared him with Schrodinger's Cat... in a box dead and alive at the same time.

I always thought the paper was labour supporting?

Correct. Legal action was launched by Reform - no other political party had either the will or the gumption.

The fact that it never actually got to court is irrelevant.

Heading to the bottom pretty soon.

In celebration of his win Farage, writing on X, said: "We took this Labour government to court and won".

So you're admitting Farage is a liar

@kent_white - any idea what's going on here?

Why are there so many overpayments and why are the NHS Trusts so shit at managing them?

Blaggers very rarely reach the pinnacle once. Never mind twice.

I certainly didn’t 😀
