MancWanderer
Derek Guest!!! Wow!! Can picture that place but not where it was. Thinking Knowsley Street part of town?? Remember going to Tracks for my vinyl like it was yesterday. Found an Ames records bag in my mums loft a few years ago and know the name but no proper recollection of wher it was. Remember a record shop on Newport Street. Was that Ames?
enzo gambaro
Derek Guest's was where Rhode Island coffee is/was. Don't know Ames but there used to be a record shop upstairs in the leccy shop on the corner of Newport Street (Edwin P Lees?). montyrays
Down the alley way off the Wimpey corner of the precinct towards Arndale entrance ( budgies) Ames ( orange sign iirc) was on left hand sign kind of opposite St. Andrews court. enzo gambaro
Derek Guest was corner of Knowsley Street and Corporation Street, next to Russell's. HMW was behind Andy's Records down the alley that runs from the Town Hall Square down past Mawdsley Street.

Ani
You're reet cocka. Was it in Mealhouse Lane near spennies snooker place? Or was that tracks!!!!!!? It was called tracks by Spencer's near the old BEN offices. Russel was Derek Guests son who opened a bistro in his own name.
Smiley
Did we ever find out the name of the Def Leppard track?
Guest
It was called tracks by Spencer's near the old BEN offices. Russel was Derek Guests son who opened a bistro in his own name. And opened Mai Thai and next door, which were taken over by his brother, Jeremy, who opened Retreat. The rest is history.
