Sheffield United

Worst performance

Living memory

Remember those words kids

JR must be all of a few months old

Flipping heck it was just a turn of phrase. Worst home performance under Parky will do. I saw some dire defeats in the 80s but can't honestly remember being so outclassed from the 1st minute at home and never threatening to even score a consolation. Correct me if I'm wrong and i'm not referring to final score e.g. 1-5 v Coventry or 0-3 v Darlington.

It's a bit soon to be writing Murphy off isn't it? How many games has he actually started?

Its a fair point but Grounds hasn't been given any period of grace. I would love Murphy to be decent but I thought he looked way off the pace in all of his appearances, even in winning at WBA similar to how Chris Taylor, and Wildschut

You've genuinely lost me there. Which game you referring to?

Well personally, our 5-0 defeat at theirs on new years eve in 1983 was my worst. I was fortunate enough to miss a 0-4 defeat a few years later when Peter Barnes and Phil Neal fell out and Wanderers fans were fighting each other in the away end.

Sheffield Utd outclassed us this season. Imo our performance against Forest was worse

I was only talking about home league games, I can talk about those with the benefit of having seen them all for a few decades but only a few a season away. I did see the 4-0 at Bramhall Lane, how bad was Barnes for us! Worst in that era was being 6-0 down at Notts County at half time and we took a great following. Difficult to pick which was worse, 0-3 v Sheff U or Forest but I felt like we were in with a shout and competing up to the hour mark v Forest but Sheff U had the game rapped up after 25 minutes, that was the dullest home game for ages. Even the penalty save was a brief moment of joy v Forest.

International break has been a welcome distraction for once, I've put this lot out of my mind for 10 days.

Just remembered we're proper crap aren't we?

Made me smile that..........the answer is yes, but as always we live in hope :)

Ha ha! I was thinking how good it is to be a Bolton fan between May and August. 4 whole months of enjoying discussing the team, the signings, planning away games and having optimism. Then 8 months of 'why do we do this' and lookinh forward to the off season when weekends are as disappointment free as the frequent international weekends.

I’m enjoying the international break even better an away game extending it. Can’t say I’m missing watching us at the moment.

Apparently they didn't sell enough travel club seats to fill a second coach so it's been cancelled and those on it refunded

Bit shit if you've now got to sort out alternative transport at this late stage

Bit shit if you're going on the travel club as well

Every cloud
