On the face of it, it would appear that sales of players and further cuts are going to be needed if Ken is to get us on a sustainable basis.

Obviously no one knows for sure, but it would seem wise to assume that future income is going to be less than anticipated, and may be lower than now.

He really has his work cut out.

Theres not a business man in the land that could pull that off without investment, nevermind a journeyman like KA.

To me he’s done a good job at robbing Peter to pay Paul for the past couple of seasons and managing to somehow stop it all imploding on the pitch. But as I and many other have said before countless times, it can’t carry on forever.

They pulled off miracle deals in that league 1 season that saw us get promoted, and same last season. They’ve not been so quite as astute or even lucky this time and it’s all going to shit.

It was always going to end up a mess until money came in. If you personally think another man could run the club better without cash then fair enough. Trouble is these miracle working football club owners are in short supply and nobody wants to give us any money. 

So we are stuck in the current plight. The Andersons want out but there’s no fucker wants in bar some dicks at the ST. And if you think it’s a mess now, wait till those fuckers are in charge and the shit properly hits the fan. 

It’s a complete mess and I wouldn’t be surprised to see us go under after the points cut off date. It was only going to ever end this way without cash. 

You give decent replies so merit decent responses. I get a lot of what you are saying but for me if he is strapped as he says he never should of got involved. His job by his own words to gain investment. He has failed to do so, so for me he has flopped. I think a lot of this has to do with the previous owner but the only way ken was ever gonna get in was through ED. The place is a sinking ship and I can't put any other spin on it. I don't enjoy typing this stuff but can't see any other conclusion.

There were countless enquiries in ED's time, but none met the standards he had set. Most were simply fantasists, or if they did have funds they were dodgy. 

I'm not sure that KA was an acceptable buyer either, but the circumstances were such the ED sold but continued to pay out. Then he died.

I think he either knew, or at least suspected, that he would need to continue helping, but the alternative was worse, which is about where we are now.

aye, I don't think he's done a good job as such, I think he's done a job - one which involves borrowing money off anyone he can, and not paying the bills, I know he's the only show in town, but it doesn't mean he or his methods deserve respect

but, we can only really judge  him when he's gone and see where he leaves us, and find out more about what has gone on behind the scenes (e.g. the next few set of accounts)

I just don't think he's going to leave us better off than when he rocked up

all we can do is wait and see

Spot on imo. My worry is this could be sooner than we think and not in a good way.

as football aside, the accounts are pretty much what defines the club (business).

dunno about now

he said the club was due to a make a profit this year, so from that you might presume we're not losing money

he also said last month he has personally funded players salaries for a few months previously costing him several million, which if true suggests we're not making money, and as a club, are still losing money

i assume we are on such a tightrope that the madine sale helped significantly. but seeing as he has done fuck all ad cardiff, its possible not as good as it could have been.

also, the current financial problems seem to be down to cashflow and not profitability - theres a massive difference.

i get that, but if in August he's saying we will make a profit but he's paying salaries himself, then in December he's saying he's been personally paying the wages for months to the tune of several  million, then unless we have a big payment due to re-imburse him to the tune of serveral million, I'd say we're not making any money

unless the EFL payment due in Jan is for several million, which it could be I guess

The question then is why take 600 k out when further down the line you know cash flow might be an issue? You can’t run any business like this. 

£600k will be a drop in the ocean for what we need to keep the wolves from the door.

I don't think anyone is excusing the Andersons. It's a fair bet that whatever happens, he won't be selling his yachts off.

I think he meant well but this has just spiralled out of control. Anyone complaining that he's taken a big wage is just being a bitter cunt because it's bigger than theirs in all liklehood.

He's not a Bolton fan like us, he's a businessman first and foremost and as such we can't act surprised if he isn't selling off his own assets to bail us out.

You have to remove the passion and take the cold view. As a business it is on its arse. Salvageable by only promotion to the Prem, a buyout, or admin.

How anyone thinks him just fucking off tonight will help is beyond me, but these same people don't run businesses so I wouldn't expect them to.
