It'll be the bloke from SA that I meet on holiday in Bali

Impossible mate. This bloke looked nothing like a flatdick.

Absolutely not mate. He did not need to 'sell it to me' one iota. Like it came off the production line in 2002. It's on a ship on Tuesday from Adelaide to Fremantle. Can't fucking wait to get me hands on it.

Now if you meant me with that line, you are quite correct.

Nipped into a dealership on my lunch yesterday to ‘have a look’ ended up signing on the dotted line with a new(ish) car. Hyundai Kona (fully electric) BB the eco warrior. Gonna take him for a spin up Scout Rd

Kona are not too bad for range. The hot summer we had maybe 21/22 I ended up getting 350 miles out of it on a trip down to the south west.

Cracking is that.

Did you use air con too?

I find it obviously reduces range a bit, but nowhere near as much as the heater does in winter.

Van has a standard heater too, whereas many newer ev cars now have heat pumps that save a lot of power.

Y'know all that 'equal and opposite reaction' stuff?

My new runabout is a V8 gas guzzling roarer. Balance.

Get it retrofitted with a couple of beastly electric motors.

Faster, better to drive, and you won't have to live in those 40 degree temperatures in Summer.

Include V2L switch and you can plug in a fridge for all your tinnies and chablis whilst out entertaining your good lady and friends.

No brainer. :)

Good move. Get your Manc sparky to fit you a charger at home and you can run it for next to nothing with overnight charging.

If you aren’t already on Octopus use the link below to get £50 off. I also get £50 but I give mine to the local hospice.

Already with them but thanks

No problem. I’m on Intelligent Octopus and charge between 11.30pm and 5.30am when it’s so cheap.

Not a fucking hope matey. There is little that rouses the soul more than the sound of a V8. No sound system required.

😁

Started watching electric classic cars.

A former petrol head car bod, who is now a complete convert to EVs.

He addresses this very point on one of his YouTube videos.

Agrees that the "V8 modor" sound is a bit of a loss, but explains that the benefits far outweigh that.

Showed a couple of retrofitted vw campers he'd done too.

From barely being able to climb a hill with their original, low power engines, to flying up them at high velocity.

No argument about instant gratification under your right foot pal. Astounding acceleration from some.

Career habits. Mechanical to the core. Fuck FEB's.
