I may be wrong but I think the deal is no where near complete and the reason they've gone to the PFA is because they are the only ones who can pay the players thus meaning the game on Saturday goes ahead. Maybe the EFL pushed FV to the PFA. Only they know but I hope I am wrong and the deal is near completion and this was just to cover their arses with the EFL deadline The PFA refused to pay the players previously until the takeover was done because they might not see their money back. This is a loan to FV on condition they only use it to settle players wages. If takeover isn’t completed the loan won’t happen. So yes I think you are wrong.

How can FV pay the players when they don't own the club? How will them funds get to the players? Or is this just for ex players?

Does anyone know why they had 3 companies in the first place and not just the two? One for the hotel and one for football? They’ve got the original Football Ventures whites, fvwl football & fvwl hotel. Do they not just need one for hotel one for football? Where does the third come in? Sorry if that’s a stupid question. I assume the original Football Ventures Whites Limited will hold the investment in FVWL Football and FVWL Hotel and any applicable goodwill that arises on the business combination (if any). Wouldn't read too much into the resignation of Jeff Thomas in the two subsidiaries unless he resigns from Football Ventures Whites limited too. Looking at the incorporation documents, the shareholding for example of FVWL Hotel is one ordinary share owned by Football Ventures Whites Limited. Mr Thomas is still a director of the parent company so unless it's just not been filed on companies house, I wouldn't worry. He also has a 1/3 ownership of the parent company in share capital. Cheese Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 (edited) Further investment is going to be needed quick sharp. Thankful to Football Ventures that we still exist, but borrowing 2M from the PFA before they even own the club isn't a good sign that they've got the funds to keep us going without sales of major assets. If all this was happening mid season the revenue created would at least see to paying the players to keep the ball rolling.
gonzo Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 You think KA creamed a few quid? Take a look at this guy
Guest Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 Made the mistake of looking on bwfc hashtag on twitter last night first tweet I saw - "Wish they'd just liquidate us so we can start again fresh"...closed twitter.

Breightmet Boy Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 Possibly saved by the bell on the 53rd anniversary of England winning the World Cup. As soon as I'm finished work I will be raising a glass at my local

Guest Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 Can we have a wanker of the week award - Quote Philip Shortland#FBPE @PhilipShortland 5m Replying to @AndyhHolt and @PFA Let me put this to you. As a result of this loan, BWFC are able to go out and buy a decent striker who does well. Bolton sneak out of trouble and ASFC are relegated. Andy H has to cut his costs and doesn’t renew the contracts for three players who have to leave the game. Fair?
ProfessorWoland Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 The way talksport reports it you'd think Gordon Taylor had reached into his own back pocket to finance this which is clearly nonsense. It would be a lot more than £2m if that had happened...

Not like they've just gone - here lads have 2M knock yourselves out. If it was a bank loan nobody would bat an eyelid.

chrisw99 Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 My twopenneth worth on this PFA loan.... if season tickets had been on sale as per normal, there'd probably be a lot more than 2mil in the cash pot by now. The delay in getting the business up and running has delayed the expected income they'd assumed there would be by now. Once the season ticket funds start rolling in, all sorted. A payday loan when you think about it
Okocha10 Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 (edited) How the fuck do you spin that PFA loan around to say we're going to buy a decent striker with it haha, all hypothetical shite. Andy Holt not moaning about the money Villa got when they was in the shite? Edited July 30, 2019 by Okocha10

A payday loan when you think about it Exactly. Plus if the hotel had been sorted earlier it would have been cheaper. I'm not entirely enamoured with FV taking so long to sort this out - and I think from what I've heard that is a feeling everywhere - that had they chosen to this would have all been sorted last week. But a loan is not a handout. People need to realise this.
