Can administrators put players on week to week contracts to get them registered? Probably already been answered but can’t be arsed looking back over the last 100 pages

Can't players play on a non-contract basis, as long as they're registered.

I'd not be shocked if we sign at least 6 on thursday

If takeover is done...and that’s a big if still.

Probably but don’t think anyone’s playing till they are paid in full. And unlikely they will be able to register new players either.

Portsmouth signed ten players on short term deals on deadline day. It's possible

Don’t think Blackpool were far behind that when KO was playing silly beggars the other season.

Has to be today, Tomorrow is really pushing it considering what needs to be paid out, with signings to be finalised, Friday will be registering the squad before 1200.

I hope your right but it seems we have been saying this for months

Just hope it really happens

From Nixon "Bolton. Players taking on club and administrators. Those putting in notice to quit blocked from leaving by appeals. Now taking to an independent panel to get release. Five months no pay. And can’t get away?"

Needs to put to bed this now & pay the players

I doubt anyone’s paying them until the takeover is done

cant see the PFA doing it just yet even though they agreed to loan the money. They will just be given assurances

Nixon is like a bi-polar journo. everything is fine one minute then doom and gloom the next. Call him out or if your mates call him out, you're a gonner. he's a dickhead

Nixon's clearly being fed by someone that's unhappy in the squad. End of the day when they get paid a lot of the issues won't be as big of a deal.

He doesn't know as much as he lets on in this. Was claiming the deal was pretty much off a few days ago, meanwhile every other media outlet was saying about the PFA loan and that it was very much on. Nixon said that the payment of 20% up front was to all players - again, totally inaccurate. He also said, on Monday, that players were on strike - refusing to train.  This was proven as being incorrect.

He loves people to hang on his stories when he gets one right, but every time he is wide of the mark it all has to be quickly forgotten about. What happened to that director of football he mentioned months ago - turned out to be just an agent. You get the point i'm making, he's nowhere near as clued up on the takeover as he likes to put out there.

The same Nixon who said the players were on a strike, they made a statement to say they weren't, yet he still said they were on strike.

Look I've no doubt some players are unhappy some probably depressed, some will wantaway no matter what. But until the takeover is done they should just wait. Who knows, perhaps there will be a queue wanting to play for us? Perhaps it will be shit.

What is the PFA doing about it? They have millions in reserves, are they not using it to help out unpaid players?

I believe they've helped out our players recently but they can't agree to pay their wages in full because they don't have the resources to cover unpaid wages as a matter of policy.

Its just the nerves! I've been telling myself every day that its going to happen, so the doubts crept in. Rationally speaking, today would make the most sense given that it then allows tomorrow to get contracts signed and players registered before Fridays deadline.

There is no way the EFL would allow the game to go ahead if we were looking like it wouldn't be completed in time to get player registration sorted. I remain hopeful, yet somewhat sceptical
