Too much debt, crap fan turnout (even in Prem), stadium in the middle of nowhere, high chance we end up in League 2, money hole for what may never be a prem club again. Even if we did make it back to prem, we'd probably have lowest crowds outside Bournemouth (and that's only due to the size of their stadium.

Initial cost has been too high. Been that way for ages. Even in admin it’s 25M debts for a league one club. Madness really.

I suppose that you don't need to look at the books to know we're a masive basket case with colossal debts, plus put in the fact that we've not got big support, and our catchment area is full of other clubs - we must be way, way down on the list of clubs that would be attractive to people.

I know people with cite the fact that we're a founder member and we won some FA Cups decades ago, but that's worth absolutely nothing to somebody looking to invest in a club I'd have thought.

I’d say the positioning of the stadium is probably a bonus at the moment, in terms of asset value being close to a very strong retail park 

Problem is it could well mean we are worth more with the ground flattened than it is with a stadium in it

Yeah doesn’t tick box for someone wanting a cheap club with potential to go up like Wigan. Or someone looking for a big ego project where they might be the one to wake up a sleeping giant like Sunderland.

We are in the price bracket of Sunderland but the fan/ego size of Wigan.

The stadium, certainly in the bottom couple of divisions, is going to be a big problem. Like it or not, those top tiers (or at least 3 of them) are going to need to be closed for the foreseeable future.

I know it's too late, but I wonder if there was any merit in selling the ground and flattening it, and then sharing with Leigh RL (if they would let us) for a few years, whilst we get back on our feet?!!?

 

Also, where are the ST in all this, they seem to be being very quiet.

Contracted players offered 100 per cent of money by FV on day one, but looks like staggered offer made to ex-players/non-contracted players the big issue.

£22M it was, I'm not sure I understand that, but maybe their assets are worth more (I really don't know) - plus I'm assuming there isn't/wasn't an ongoing debt that needs to be serviced. Either way, it's a grim day when a foreign investor sees Wigan as a more attractive proposition than Bolton Wanderers

We are not a big club for an unfashionable town team and our attendances compare with counter parts like Burnley, Blackburn, Preston, Barnsley, Uddersfield, etc. Bournemouth? Get stuffed

Don’t think we ever had the lowest attendances over season all the time we were in prem . But as it proves with Bournemouth , Burnley etc attendances mean fuck all otherwise sheff wed , Leeds would still be there money counts
