Rugby at murrayfield Friday night. Same sort of seating arrangement although masks/face coverings were worn at seats.

right there In that photo is how the unibol will be set up when we’re allowed back in. So folk best get used to the idea of being moved seats!

That’s exactly what they said to me, current seat numbers will mean jack and that folk being moved tiers/blocks a possibility

I'd guess we'd get more than that in as we can sit in bubbles, less gaps?

Murrayfield they could sit in twos as in next to each other from same household it appeared.

be meltdown central when folk get told they are moving. But but but I’ve sat in that seat since the ground opened

No as it’s also the entry to and from the ground that’s an issue. Be lucky currently to be able to allow all season ticket holders in for a game from what I’m reading.  But it’s a fast moving thing so who knows

Anything is better than not going at all and they haven’t got masks on !!

Whilst there are still distancing restrictions in force, Tickets will be issued on a match by match basis to print at home - You'll be allocated a seat in the ground, could be anywhere but 'together' in your networks. Get used to the idea now, it could be a while before you see your regular seat.

Not entirely the case. As greater capacities come in to use (which will be when we’re allowed in), bubbles will be seated together which leaves less empty seats.

The current guidance around masks is that they would need to be worn in internal areas but not at your seat. I doubt ale will be on sale as they want as few people as possible to be milling around the concourses.

You reckon regarding concourses

Watched a video from Brighton and it worked smoothly ( I know only 2500 was on ) maybe in the bigger stadiums

Bubbles were sat together upto a max of 2 people it appears at the rugby. But the gap between bubbles or any seated person was 2 seats either way. That included nobody in the aisle seats and 2 seat gap as well which makes sense as then nobody walking past is within a certain Proximity to the first seated person in any row

I’m not going to sit and do the maths but if that’s the case and were the rules that applied, I’m not sure it would get us to anymore than 30% capacity in any stadium And maybe not even as much as 25%.

Also i wasn’t sure there was guidance for inside sports stadia in the UK and these test events were to determine what the guidance/rules should actually be?

All depends on the size of the concourse and how easily a one way system can be implemented. Given where our queues are accommodated, I’m expecting them to struggle to be able to open the main kiosks and certainly won’t want people congregating downstairs with ale. Hard enough to get past the queues to get to the toilets at the best of times and even less so with a socially distanced queue. Might have half a chance with the corner outlets in NSL and maybe more mobile sellers though.

FA have been issuing guidance throughout. As above, the concourse is as much of an issue in dictating capacity as the actual seating area. I know of at least two NW venues that are having to sacrifice all F&B outlets because of the resultant limit on capacity even though the seats wouldn’t be an issue. Alternate empty rows has been a big thing so far in order to aid one-way systems on the steps so I was surprised to see that wasn’t the case at Brighton.

Depending on the above factors, capacity seems to be ranging from 22% up to c30%

Not disagreeing with any of that but worth bearing in mind the concourses in for eg ESL wont be anywhere near as busy as normal due to reduced capacity.  In a crowd of 10,000 last season there might have been 5,000 in ESL and half of those in the concourse at half time let's say 2,500.  In a crowd of 8,000 this season there will only be maybe 2,000 in ESL so maybe 1,000 wanting to be in the concourse at half time.  All guesswork but you get my drift.  Our concourse is bigger than most as well, will be easier to have a 1 way system than at many grounds (Villa, Everton, Wigan,  PNE, Blackburn for eg) where its smaller.

lot less space on wsl concourses

But less people too

And isn’t the south stand being used too

so said the girl in the ticket office, that will create more room

Thing is it isn’t for the fa to decide. They can make suggestions and when the government decide what the FA can do the FA will obviously pretend they are the ones deciding unless it’s shit in which case it will be the governments fault.

murrayfield doesn’t have an inside concourse. It’s all “outside”. So if they end up restricted capacity then it doesn’t bode well for other venues

Government are working alongside the FA and Premier League, who I might add are hoping to incorporate some sort of plan to allow away fans to attend. Scotland will be a different process, but with Murrayfield’s outdoor concourse as an example, their operational capacity will be determined by the seating arrangements more than the concourses. There’s a formula of how much space is required per person for indoor concourses to be allowed to be opened which is variable depending on how much of the seating capacity is used. All a bit of a balancing act but they certainly can’t be accused of not planning for it. Murrayfield also made a deliberate effort to allocate tickets to those who live nearest to the stadium in an effort to limit travel. Although that won’t happen down here, transport planning is also forming part of the capacity allowance. Not a coincidence that Brighton were given the pilot given their reliance on local trains.

Even with the lower occupancy in the last few seasons, ask yourself how many people in the kiosk queue that you’ve had to brush past to get to the toilet. That’s essentially the sort of contact that they’re trying to avoid (even though it’s not a problem in supermarkets, of course) and keep people in their seats for as long as possible.

Masks on concourses then?

Looking that way but not in the seats. Given the initial thinking was the exact opposite of that, I’ll take it.

I saw something a while back that had twickenham at 25k capacity under social distancing rule but can’t remember the specifics of it. That would fit between Matt’s 20-30% rule.

I do think in scotland it will be masks anywhere from the queues to get in all the way to when you’re out of the stadium
