Free Agents

Can we still procure Free Agents......? Now that the seasons well and truly underway some of these lot sat on their backsides may be missing the bug, may want some action......we could do worse than trying to entice in some big names on very short term / very low paid deals - test them out as men, get 'em off the scrapheap, do each other a favour.....kind of thing.....there is a long list of unattached well known players loitering about...just to waste away a bit of time until I go home.......could put together this eleven:

GK: Adam Bogdan

LB: Coentrao

RB: Abate

CB: Vukovic

CB: Paletta

MD: Ledley

MD: Ben Arfa

LM: El Ghanassay

RM: Honda

ST: Bony

ST: Martins

Test 'em out - £2000 a week, get fit, get us some points, clause in contracts allowing them to fack off to a "big club" as desired......

Or have I been playin too much footy manager....?

When you get the chance to play for Hibs, it’s a struggle to resist it.

Ledley suddenly thought he was good because he played for Wales in the world cup, and grew a beard

Bit like how Robson Kanu thought he was ace because he scored a good goal despite being released by Reading

Problem is with some of the out of contract players, is that they are most likely many weeks behind with their fitness levels and we've just over 2 months to go before the January transfer window opens. We would have to be looking for similar players to Dodoo, who aren't too far behind with their fitness levels, but they will be difficult to find at this stage of the season imo.

Bit of a mystery Ledley, he's the archetypal "championship standard" midfielder, even though he's played plenty in Prem, still only 32.  Assuming he's not injured it makes you wonder if he's not prepared to drop into Div 1 and/or take a wage drop.

Clough.  Madine.  Etc.  Not that Madine will care while he's counting his millions.

Maxim Tsigalko ?

Tonton Zola Moukoko is available

Won't get a work permit.

I thought Honda was older than 33, remember him at AC Milan. He can still motor.

We've got one space left in our squad and are limited to a maximum of £2000 per week - and we don't want to spend so much on a potentially unfit free agent. I'd say if KH felt he wanted to fill the last space before January he'd have done so by now.

It makes sense to wait till January. A number of players on loan till then may leave - so we'll need to re-evaluate then anyway. And I suspect how well we're doing also plays into this.

On O.D.  Add manager B & take control on say Bayern Munich, sign Maxim Tsigalko give him a 6 year contract....wait 5 years he becomes a euro citizen , sign him for Bolton Wanderers , sit back and watch us win everything possible ever until he retires........

Or... To Madiera

If the stories are correct a Clough is a BWFC legend as his money helped save us short term. Similar with madine

Pretty much, we've always had to work that way,

Shame really, but they might have just been a flash in the pan for us...

Warnock is the BWFC legend.  Saw Madine score against his team and decided to sign him irrespective of cost.  In modern times he did more to save BWFC than any manager or owner.  Imagine if Cardiff didnt need a forward, or didnt have money to burn, where would we be now.

Warnock had too much  for old Phil Neal. Hammered us 4-0 when managing Scarborough and beat us in the play offs managing Notts County.

That was my first thought. May have been 3-1 though. A good win either way.

Not sure Warnock was quite so superior. We went up.

The away match was a shocker though.

That's you thinking like a football fan. I'll guarantee he considers it to be the greatest thing that's ever happened to him. 💰💰💰

absolutle legend, to a lot of fans.

what a crazy world.

He happened to be playing when I went to watch Toronto v NYRB last year and he was head and shoulders above anything else on the field.

Saw him play as a kid for City in a friendly against Leigh RMI and he looked a world-beater. City's staff were saying he was twice the player of his brother and expected big things. Once he was dropping down to the Championship and League One then it's always pretty hard to get back really.

If he'd consider us, surely we would be weighing him up
