1000 Up

Featured Replies

England's 1000th game coming this week, some discussion and reminiscing about it on the radio just now and I think an ITV documentary in a few days.

Let's hope there's a few more stars above that badge for them to talk about when 2000 comes round...

  • He's right. Sterling shouldn't be giving it billy big bollocks 24hrs after the event. Gareth has to show that he's in charge, unlike when the "Golden Generation" were running the show.

  • Lovely, I've got 2 Wembley games

Sterling sent home for a bust up with Gomez

Big call by Southgate that, fair play to him.

Not sent home, dropped for one game. Available for selection for the Kosovo game, isn’t he?

But yes, good decision, players need to know who is in charge.

Gutted to be missing the milestone 1000th game, I'm sure we can make up for it with cheap beer in Albania [en route to Kosovo]

You could pretend it's the 1000th game by recognising that match against Hong Kong before Euro 96 as a full international, sorted.

After the game on Sunday, and the edgy nature of it, I did wonder if feelings might still be a bit high as they met up.

Perhaps could have done with another league game to get it out of the system.

Surely as a manager at that level you would be aware of potential issues following a game of that magnitude and also seeing as though they had a coming together on tv.

im pretty sure it must have been brewing a while too.

poor management for me and poor handling of it

I'd like to hope Rooney did a bit of damage to Ronaldo after the 2006 WC game in Germany.   Now that did upset me.

Indeed. Deserved his statue that mon.

Made a mountain out of a molehill with this.

Southgate has done the right thing. He’s spent a few years unifying players, and getting them to forget about club rivalries.
One of the reasons we have done so badly in tournaments before Southgate is players would be separated, United players sitting with only United players, Chelsea players only rooming with Chelsea players.

Theyve had a bust up. Southgate has said no we’re a united international team, and you don’t act like that. You’re dropped end of.

fair play to him.

He's right.

i thought he'd threaten to hand in a transfer request , but he hasnt.

He's picked a very young side. Very quickly moved on from the World Cup team.

No Walker, Lingaard, Dier, Alli, Henderson...

Mings and Gomez, are they centre backs? If so I'd rather have them in than Stones. Scares the shit out of me that mon with his playing it out from the back.

Hopefully it won't matter tonight. We should have shit loads of possession and little pressure on defenders.

Who is Tomori?

If someone would have told me the team wouldn’t have them in barring Lingaard right after the World Cup I’d have asked what you were drinking

Fair play to Southgate picking players on Merit

Young Chelsea player. Broke into the first team and they're doing ok in fairness.

Great goal
