I’m serious. Call one. Just the distraction we need right now and will solve the problem?

the problem is the minority who have caused this. But they’re too big to admit it

Do you trust him and his cabinet in all this?

Anyway I will continue to follow the rules and do my best. Let other people do what they want and live with the consequences  which lets be honest are all around us at the moment. And getting worse daily.

but it doesn’t apply to them.

Who are the minority who have caused this

Maybe you could name names for the avoidance of doubt

NASUWT Habe warned that using section 44 to stay off work can result in dismissal.

Not something I would do tbh. Not heard anything from daughters school though. Last time they used secondary teachers from another MAT linked school to plug gaps.

I don’t live other peoples lives. So I don’t see what rules people are breaking. I just know what I’ve done.
If people have broken rules. Then they know. They don’t need me speculating who has done what.

we all live with it.

Loads of LA now backing all schools to shut, talk about 11th hour. Be interesting to see what thecreaction to this is after Boris urged parents to send their primary aged kids to school this week only this morning.

So when people now complain because their kids can’t go to school who do they blame now? Can’t be the person who said to go can it? Has to be the unions.

My sister has had a ton of union emails today but with the larger local authorities now backing a two week minimum shutdown it won't be long.

A total lockdown called this week, just to take control of this situation.

So why are the schools shutting in Union advice and not government advice, which is contrary.

They've completely lost this one, its run away from them and now unions are shutting schools, not the elected government, in many cases a few hours before kids are due back. Totally shambolic.

Your post has no context to mine- dunno why you're creating an argument.

In the immediate term, if they shut, there's little anyone can do.

Should the government choose to, they could decide its a refusal to work/illegal strike and start disciplinary action. But they won't for obvious reasons.

Still nothing wrong in aiming to have schools open though- so long as it is safe.

A unions role is to look after its members, and the clearly feel they have a case. Their primary responsibility isn't to children.

Hence my suggestion, in line with what others have said, is get the vaccinations done.

Helps both.

No one is blaming schools or indeed unions. But its the Sunday before kids go back. Give people more time to prepare. Its not like the gvt didn't know this was happening.

They've fucked this right up.

You think we need a distraction ?

Rather than focus ?

Would appear to me to be a masterstroke.

to get what you want and let someone else take the fall for it? Very clever. Not really befitting of a PM to be honest. But he can do no right in some eyes anyway so what the hell

Unions closing schools

Supposedly education unions

More like anti-education

I'm not arguing, I'm just amazed folks are not more shocked about blanket ignoring of the central government and the lack of control of the messaging.

What a daft comment. Just watch the news regularly, or be honest about your own observations on new lane for example.

Even front line doctors are calling it- are they not to be believed?

Oh they will be looking for someone to blame. If Boris had done this tonight in a presser at 9pm

uproar. Folk on here would’ve been melting in their armchairs.

as it is it isn’t him that’s decided this it’s the unions. There will be uproar tomorrow and somehow it will be the governments fault. Bet you a pint on it

Fucking hell. Its a bad day for the government, make no mistake about that my blue hued Johnson loverboy.

Nope, waaaaaay off. No uproar, being ignored is way worse. Folk are taking no notice of them whatsoever now. Thats what is shocking.

You're not that dense.

The messaging is clear. The fact that unions are disagreeing with it is a different matter.

Think we'll see a wider closure of schools in the worst areas anyway- this was hinted at during the last public update, and statement in the house. People tend not to listen fully though and get on their high horse.
