According to BBC Radio Manchester people are being turned away from the Rivington and Anderton areas because the roads are treacherous because of ice. Quote

Just back from there. Parked at the Yew Tree as Knowsley Rd was closed. Some still went through and parked on the road. From where the closure sign was, the roads were treacherous. Footpaths the same but with the right footwear, they were ok. Lots without the right footwear so some comical street dancing going on. Don’t know about Rivi as I was on Anglezarke moor but I could see lots of dots up on the pike. Didn’t see any police. Quote
