Sage woman highlighted 2 areas why this lockdown isn't working.

1. Too many children going to school because the govt have relaxed rules on who is a keyworker

2. Too many tradesman visiting people's home.A new jacuzzi being fitted isn't essential, the new garage can wait a few weeks and it isn't a disaster if the windows are a bit dusty because they havent been cleaned for 6 weeks

I don’t think “essential” work has figured in this lockdown as yet

As an aside I had a few cans so went (to Burnden) on my pushiron (I'd only had three and went slow on the pavement...)

In September I was running from my house to Cleggs Lane and back (6km with two good climbs) in 30 mins-ish, biking 26-28 miles...

Had it in October.

Yesterday I had to get off and push halfway up the slight brew of Weston Street on the way home.

I was fooked and blowing out of my arse.

I hope @Rudy
you avoid this, mate. I wonder which guidelines flouting twat infected me? I hope their cock (or tits) drop off...

I was in a bad way the past two days but today I’ve kicked it’s cunt in.

I have a feeling they’ll impose further restrictions though not sure what they could be.

I guess closing more workplaces.

If its essential for you to go to the workplace to be able to do your job, then you SHOULD

Not can, should

Which i believe is the same as last march

.gov and the media invented essential work

But a company can decide that it isn’t safe and close down and furlough you all. If they choose no? Not the government but your employer? Or is my understanding wrong?

And to save 3 hours of my life

Nobody can be forced into being furloughed

They can be made redundant

cool. I will tell the biggest sub contractor to network rail they were wrong and to PM you for details 👍🏼👍🏼

Fwiw, id happily be furloughed on the orginal furlough terms

Didnt furlough change that you had to work a day or 2 per week, or didnt that ever happen

Amongst many other large corporates. Wee sideline for you

No. If the company wants to furlough as there is no work. If you refuse they can make you redundant.

youre really not listening when it suits

I've seen a few people on social media saying they're going visiting parents this weekend now that the parents have had their first jab.

Still fucking wrong, dickheads.

My 99 yr old nan (god bless her) gets her second dose today, but I'll still be staying away.

People are forgetting the title job retention scheme. It’s all it’s designed for to stop people being made redundant. Thus is a company is shutting down and you don’t take it there is only one other option. Not a pleasant one for majority of people unless it comes with a substantial payout but one other option nonetheless

never once did I say anyone could be forced to do anything. But by refusing they are choosing another path of the company is to close down during covid which was the basis of the discussion about companies choosing to remain open.

Like i said, im not wasting 3 hours of my life on you

I'll explain as simply as i can

Furlough is a variation to contract

Both sides need to agree

It helps if its done in writing

If you want to argue with yourself, crack on

But they are choosing to stay open for corporate gain. Simple. So your initial attempt as usual to blame the government is incorrect.

ive had a lovely day thank you and intend to finish the day of doing exactly that

so are morecambe which is equally relevant

This was talked about on Martin Lewis’ The Money Programme.

My understanding was that when furlough was first introduced it was all or nothing but has since become work a bit, furlough a bit. It seemed that rather than have one person working and another not, an employer can ask employees to work part of week for 100% pay and furlough for the remainder for 80%.

Yes that’s fair enough but suppose unless you get a breakdown of days/times of traffic increases it’s hard to tell

Must say apart from commuting times it’s very quiet around here

I think so too.

A few more business open so bound to be more traffic. Previously for example, building suppliers were shut, so plenty of other businesses couldn't work anyhow.

Can see more tightening up still.

Its doesn't "take effect" for up to three weeks anyway, so you're right to keep away
