To demonstrate to the obtuse, deliberate or otherwise, that we have a big problem on our hands

10 months in and some still refuse to accept it

You think that’s going to make a difference really mate? There are supposed medical professionals posting graphs with commentary to say this shows we don’t have a problem and it’s usual for this time of year etc and it’s a hoax.

If folk still think we’ve no problem now then I hope that the government administer lethal injections masquerading as vaccines to them. Wishful thinking though

Most vaccinations + most cases = sooner we hit herd immunity

Probably not

But it validates the point if nothing else

The point doesn’t need validating IMO

Yes but you’re not going to change peoples opinions you know this. You could post a graph from a top scientist saying we are all going to die in two days and the same folk will come Out with the same stuff, some will blame Boris , some Will say there’s no problem and some will say everyone else will But them as theyve got common sense

people are not for budging.

Hundreds of fans gathering to see arrival of marine and Spurs players. No social distancing and only the odd mask. Lots of police stood watching. No idea why they didn’t just move them along when they started gathering.  Complete shit show.

You can but try

Talking about a rise in cases like it's ultimately a positive

Herd immunity was dismissed as a strategy in march

I was stating a fact, that we will get there more quickly.

Vaccination gets you herd mmunity, that's what it's for!

Totally stupid chart.

If this new variant had happened elsewhere, they would have bigger problems than they currently have.

It will happen elsewhere, eventually.....

You're right though, pointless chart really

Possibly, but if they can keep the lid on things whilst vaccinating, hopefully not.

Also testament to the UK and its ability to find and sequence these variants, and therefore warn others.

For which we get little/no praise/kudos

It’s not only stupid it’s inaccurate and misleading. Why do people share stuff like this.

You can pretty much find a graph to prove any viewpoint. The joy of social media

Did it actually originate here, seeing as London is a world city and all, or were we simply the first to sequence it? Not that it really matters

@ZicoKelly you can see my point about conflicting info?

Not really

Our rates are ripping through our relative population quicker than elsewhere

Bobys graph shows it's higher in some countries than others since Jan 8th

Personally i don't see it as a criticism of the UK so it doesn't bother me, i see it as a stark warning

But both charts should be a wake up call to anti vaccers or anti lock downers, ie the crack on brigade

Whether we're top of a chart or 8th, the nightingales are still on standby

If crack-oners can show me a graph that shows that's it's so bad then go for it

But I've not seen one yet

Etihad Tennis Centre opening next week

Great news, like, but how do the over 80s get there without potentially exposing themselves to more danger.

Or is it not really for them as that's a GP jobbie

I doubt there are any crack oners on here

Tell them there’s a cruise style buffet waiting for them at the end. They’ll shove everyone out the way to get there
