A January lockdown should help.

Jan is the worst month to give up booze I think. Work, dreary, post Xmas.

Im just going to have a couple of rivvies at the weekend.

Possibly.

Maybe.

We must be talking Youri prices for that collab beer

I don't get the logic of quitting (the depressant) alkyhol during what is by far the most depressing month of the year...

I reckon' April (for a clean month) - spring cleaning, lighter nights, get out for runs/bike rides/walks, get back in shape etc.

January? Not on your nelly, especially (even though we've largely been shit recently) as (normally - pre-Covid) going to the match and a few scoops, or a walk ending in a warm pub are but two of the few pleasures in this utterly shite month that entail booze.

Generally I'd agree

But most January's are not preceded by 10 months solid drinking

At least on Friday I'll find out if I've developed alcohol dependency

January will be 31 days of Rentons detox scene from trainspotting

And as a back up measure tomorrow I'm going to calculate how much I've spent on booze in 2020 and write the figure on numerous post it notes which I'll stick in random places in every room in the house

I wrote my post (below) as you were posting...

Make a wish.

Great minds...

Re: Trainspotting - Sominex is your friend, £2.50ish from most chemists.

Don't tot up your annual spend - you know my miserly habits and relative restraint these days but I did a fag packet calculation t'other day and felt like putting my head in the oven.

Mainly through being a lazy fucker and just sloping to the corner shop - one of those places that charges the absolute maximum for booze and avoids stocking producer pre-pricemarked stuff like the plague. I've spent loads...

He fucking loves me - this shop appears at least once every couple of days on my debit/credit card statements for the last twelve months.

I'm boycotting him from now on.

I could've bought a motorbike or had two weeks mooching around America.

And I'm parsimm..er parsimino...erm a skinflint - I dread to think of the spend of you craft lads or decent wine winos.

Post it on here I could do with being made to feel better

Wife said she'd rather I was drinking than playing Cyberpunk, can't do right for doing wrong at our house.

Just back from a fortnight in Lanzarote where the inhouse beers were Amstel & San Mig. Smashed a fair few of those and also bought a load of a 5.6% dark beer from the local Lidl at 40p a can.

Now back home and I've a boatload of ale/cider that I bought weeks back to plough through.

I've got alcohol free kopperberg. It's shite. I will stick with vimto from now on

What you playing it on?

Stadia - was 40 quid b4 xmas for the game, the controller, and the ultra chromecast.

Few glitches but not any more than say you might get on Assasins Creed or summat, m8 has been doing it on xbox and he said it's been fine for him as well.

I was thinking it was gonna be a flop but I’ve got it on PS5 and it’s immense, no glitches, not as quick loading as I expected but I’m sure it will with the new patches in the new year

Most stuff doesn't really grab me but with me being off work it's like being a kid again, battered it for the last 4 days. Not even done a main mission either only been doing side stuff and free roaming.

By and large kept me off the ale as well which has been a bonus.
