Uuurrrgh. Just the sight of the 1664 logo gives me memory shivers of the worst hangovers of my youth. 

Went down well at the time, but by the christ did it make you pay the next day. 

Or was that when it was used in snake bite blacks??? Deary me.

I wonder if anyone else has experienced similar recently, but the last 3 or 4 visits I've had to different pubs around the NQ the lager has been absolutely shite. Flat or off or barely chilled.

Maybe just bad luck but had some honking pints (and hangovers!) from round that way last few months.

I drink lager, but I don’t go to the NQ for it, as, in my view, there’s a smorgasbord of much more interesting things.

There's a tea room that's opened up round there where you have to dine in complete silence, no phones allowed, women discouraged from wearing lipstick or perfume, have to take your shoes off, open and close the door as quietly as possible, only maximum of 2 people allowed in a booking. 

I'll stick to a flat Amstel 😃
