My guess would be that 9 drinks at Rivvy (they’re usually served as halves so not sure of actual volume) cost around £5.00 per drink

With allowance for snacks, I imagine he’s spent £60

Prices are alright. Seen a poster off here on twatter earlier showing the menu. Fancying it myself at some point looks good

It’s fucking ace

Who buys snacks?

Is it the Blue Oyster bar or sommat?

It's a canny trick to only serve halves though.

It's actually more cash per ml than with the can gyp, less overheads too.

I think anything above 7% is served as halves.

Last time I went I had 7 or so pints with an average abv of about 6.5% and when I got home I’d done a small wee in my pants

I did expect them to be charging a fortune like youri for a proper pint but very reasonable all things considered.

Going take my mums fella for an afternoon session at some point as a treat for him. Will of course hide the abv and see how he feels when he tries to stand up

My mam and dad had a caravan in Cumbria (pikey fuckers) - the bitter was off at the local pub once so my old man drank his usual pintage but in Theakston's Olde Peculiar.

My mam was not impressed with his state on the walk 'home', flashbacks of his wilder days, so she shoved him into a ditch...

I like your Mam 😂

Brewtap prices always tend to be very reasonable because of relatively low overheads

He had the last laugh - she preceded him.

😂

('joke').

He actually stopped supping almost altogether by his standards after her passing.

Cut down to one or two bottles of Guinness Original per day from her death to his some six years later - she'd have been really pissed off about that, his newfound temperance.

I thought they'd keep them artificially high-ish so as to perpetuate the extortionate shop can sale scam they've got going.

Nah, it only tends to be like that if you're trying 10% limited-edition collab nonsense

I might give it a go then, when all the novelty New Years Eve 'likes' hungry attention thumbcocks have fucked off back to baking cakes or banging pans...

After all the hype this Blood Machines better be like The Virgin Mary's lovejuice after she'd ate a few tins of Del Monte peaches.

It was all in pints if we wanted - which, of course, we did.

Even the 8.2% stuff, which we ended up necking as the driver was waiting. Not a good idea.

Pizza wasn’t on, but there were burgers, iirc.

Order ahead if you don't fancy waiting around as they take a while to pour and can up

Or

Order and have a pint whilst you wait

The latter was my intended option pal. A civilized pint

I should be there just after lunchtime Friday so hopefully get a seat and a pint and a few to take away to ease myself into the weekend

Tetley - obviously more famous for their bitter (always a decent pint over the hill) - have started making lager. 3 x 660ml bottles for a fiver in Tesco and it’s lovely.
