Is it because they've revealed their true colours, excuse the deliberate pun.

Folk were warned re their true intentions, but as always called racist by the naive.

It’s not about whether they should boo is it, it’s informing fans why the players are doing what they’re doing. Millwall did it the other day when they linked arms. It worked. They didn’t tell them why they were kneeling, they got booed.

All comes across as a bit childish putting it like that.  What's wrong with just letting them do it if that's what they want to do?

Why is it childish? We are informed who a minutes silence is for if there’s going to be one. 
 

But like you say let them do what they want but there can’t be any complaints if there’s booing unless the player/club has made it clear why they’re kneeling.

If they're going to explain the reasoning for a 5-second action on the website, I want an explanation of every goal celebration too

Again, this is going back to assumptions being made.  Booing someone based on an assumption.  Seems a bit daft to me.

Because the club community officer has said kneeling in support of BLM? So it’s not an assumption really. 
 

But if the club don’t want that stigma of fans booing, which I’m sure they don’t, then issue a statement or do the linked arm stance. (See Millwall)

Maybe different players are doing it for different reasons.  Maybe clubs can publish a list of each squad member and their reasons and once this has been published then fans can point at specific players and boo.  They'll need to be quick though to get it done in 5 seconds.  Rapid fire booing.

... OR the fans can just respect it, or ignore it, or mutter "wankers" under their breath for those 5 seconds and then just get on with their lives and there is no controversy and the world is a nicer place again.

Ok imagine being Sharon, you’ve seen the uproar that has been caused at Millwall. They nipped it in the bud pretty much straight away but that stigma will stay. 
Now as the owner of the club surely you must be thinking “I don’t want my club being associated with booing, it’s obviously unclear what the message is so let’s issue a statement that says kneeling covers all colours/religions”

If a player wants to come out and say I’m only kneeling for blacks they can do (they won’t) 

Until it’s made clear, which is massively obvious it’s not, then you can always expect a boo from some. 
 

If Sharon has a social media rep they will be able to relay to her what some of the BWFC fans groups are saying with regards the matter

All one big community, a masively diverse mob of lads that have travelled the country together, best mates, family members, mixed race familes etc, all one big strong community that have a reputation for just that. They go to the match and youve got players that far from detached from any life struggles making gestures, supporting a movement that for them simply isnt there.

Actually, its nice these things being discussed. There are still loads of folk who feel uncomfortable. Im still glad football is forcing these problems into life.
