Spent a lot of time around Milwaukee, Chicago and to a lesser extent Green Bay. Also in Atalanta and Auburn close to our other factory. Done LA, Vegas, Phoenix, Tampa, Orlando etc. but that was more holiday type stuff encountering tourists rather than locals.

Get in a 'corner bar' with the locals and they're as sound and seemingly common sense as they come and it seems really hard to imagine where all the nutjobs are. As you say, just 'normal'.

As we all know, the nutters are there alright and there's fucking millions of them. Only saw one unsavoury incident in a bar near Atalanta airport. Afro american bartender had the whole place rocking with laughter, discussions on NFL and college football. Just a genuinely sound lad reaping plenty of tips. Then a Yosemite Sam looking character wanders in and starts giving hime the "Whiskey, boy!" treatment until a couple of rather large gents 'asked him to leave' and that was the end of that. Other than that, am struggling to think of any time I have spent in the US which could be described as anything other than good times.

Channel 4 is horrendous and always has been but doesn't have a mandate to be impartial as its not funded by the TV license.
