breaking the rules / loopholes / going to Liverpool for "business meetings" / going to away games in a lower Tier

All are exactly the same thing and this inconsiderate, ignorant, selfish behaviour is helping the virus spread.
Nobody is exempt, do as you're fucking told FFS.

Strictly speaking going on holiday is breaking the rules, but I think most of the rules are bollocks to be honest, using  your own common sense is more important factor in keeping you clear of the virus in my opinion and that’s why I’m against most of the rules the government have put in place.

Perhaps the rules are made with non compliance in mind?

If people followed them more stringently, maybe they wouldn't need to be so strict.

What are the rules on going away?

just not advised to leave your area

The government should give advise and it’s up to each and every Individual to use common sense & best practice to reduce risk, but as I’ve said earlier schools & unis are a breeding ground and learning should go online.

Most countries not accepting Brits at present. Travel abroad not allowed in tier 4.

Thanks, lost track of it all

Which so many failed to do.

With the exception of America, I'm not sure there's been any other first World nation with such a relaxed, "trust the people" approach.

Lovely in principle, yet for the most part it gets thrown back in the face of the authorities.

In Tier 4, yes.
Tier 3 or lower, just not advised.

Which looks more of a political decision than a health one to me.

Sweden probably most relaxed, it’s my preference that folk take responsibility and not government.

Lots of stuff folk doing isn’t advised such as travelling tier 3 to tier 2. We can’t pick and choose then moralise on what’s right or wrong, my view is that folk should have freedom to choose and have freedom to manage their own life as they see fit.

And you're entitled to that opinion.

I just disagree with it. People from Tier 3 areas shouldn't be going on the piss in Liverpool etc.

I had to prove I was COVID-free to go on holiday and isolate on return. It's not the same.

But you could catch it on the plane or on holiday, same for me. Either you can or can’t travel you can’t have it both ways. That’s my view anyhow.

Id agree, but if it starts affecting others?

Im steering clear of folk who I know are at high risk, those who aren’t a high risk have the option to isolate as do folk who are a high risk.

It'd be unlikely to catch it on a plane carrying other passengers who've also had to have covid tests and have to wear masks, but you know this anyway.

But then you land where your going and you are in contact with folk who’ve not been tested, that’s why it’s a load of cock & bull. It should come down to common sense protect yourself as best as you can and crack on. My wife’s a TA she can put herself at risk day in day out but can’t go out for a meal in a controlled environment.

There are 42 active cases on the whole island of Lanzarote. Everyone wears masks in public and I picked up a sanitised hire car.

I'm very confident that I was safer during that fortnight than I've been at any time in the last nine months.

I agree, but I’m also not gonna say folk cant go to another area and have a meal in a safe & controlled environment.

Are you staying clear of asymptomatic folk?

Nope, how can you, other than keeping the 2 metres , mask and washing hands and limiting contact time to folk outside of my bubble, but that’s at my risk.

Except for those you subsequently come into contact with because you've no idea that you could be infectious.

Especially now with this new strain.

I suppose the other question is why do we wear masks and keep distance- these are government guidance too?

Just don't get the picking and chosing approach.

I’m opposed to government dictating everything you can and can’t do, I’m in favour of government guidelines and for folk to use common sense, I’m generally keeping to my home bubble, when at work keeping distance and the rest of the advice, keeping my contacts outside of bubble at arms length and minimising contact time, if everyone behaved like this we wouldn’t have the problem, house parties, close contact in pubs and schools are driving the infection, 2 of these I can mitigate but not the contact in school.

Mounts, like me, is clearly interpreting/using the rules to suit

But its all very well saying lockdown, dont do anything

Im not massively into socialising but the thought of following all the rules to the letter, especially while working and never seeing daylight wouldnt be good for me

While furloughed,in the summer...that was much easier
