"Whose that coming up the hill boys?

The Wanderers are coming up the hill boys,

They all laugh at us,

They all mock at us,

They all say our days are numbered,

Born to be a Wanderer,

Victorious are we,

So you'd better hurry up,

Cos we're gonna win the cup,

We're the pride of division 3,2,1,

Victorious and glorious,

We took the Stretford end between the 4 of us"

There's more, but thats as much as i can remember

I think the last two lines are "Glory be there ain't no more of us coz the Lever End they took the lot". Or something like that.

Song sheets 😂. Did you have one when you learnt it? Songs are passed on by ear. As a collective its down to the fans to pull their fingers out.

Aye its corny - but word of mouth ain't doing the job.

I would say our song is "Look whose coming up the hill boys". But even when it gets a rare airing it tends to peter out half way through.

That's because it's a really poor song after the first few great opening lines.

Utd had a couple of actual song writers doing theirs in the 90s and they were often aired in the pub beforehand.  The one they did about Park, the Korean lad, was a classic, the bastards.

They do have a lot of songs but fuckin hell they sing every one of them like it's a dirge. Which is not surprising given they are a right bunch of characterless robotic twats.

Only times you hear a few of the songs mentioned is in a pub on a fruity away day or a train platform

The ending is a bit weak and doesn't seem to rhyme somehow.

Man U have had some piss poor songs in the past that sounded like nursery rhymes

"Ryan Giggs,Ryan Giggs, running down the wing"

"We are the pride of all Europe, the cock of  the North"

Just fuck of and die you choreographed cunts.

I liked it when they started "Always look on the bright side of life" then whenever a team beat them, the opposing fans would gleefully sing it back to them.

I'm sure Rog could tell us more.

"Heroes of the Bolton Fusiliers" - Choooon.

Yes there were always other words to "always look on the bright side of life" when it was sung back at the cunts

We would have took the Shed if there’d been more of us

Cos the Lever end took the lot

We are the Lever the Lever Enders

Bolton’s version,

“We are the Bolton, the Cock o’ the North

we all hate Chelsea and Munich, of course

we only drink whisky and Newcastle Brown

The Bolton Boys are in town.

Well a song thread would be the only topic to get you back m8

I think our song going forward should be 'we will meet again'. Was our European song after a few drinks

Need someone talented to change the words to OUR song

Bring back “1-0 to the Wanderers”

There was a very short lived version of this for Alex Baptiste during his first spell, wasn’t there? Not even got the right number of syllables. Cracking player (Jones, not Baptiste)

Back then it didn't even include "to the wanderers"

Just the score

And drop the fuck out of, “How shit must you be? We’re winning at home.”

Quite impressive on that clip at the beginning.

Part of the effect is the sheer numbers in unison.

Sheffield United with the chip butty version is a good one when loads belting it out.

A good anthem to start with and some proper words needed.

Yellow yellow yellow yellow yellow

I thought it was weary as fuck. Footy songs need to be faster paced and rousing. I think Leeds “Marching on together” sounds pretty good when they have a massive away following and they all sing it in unison.

We had our version of that in the 80s/90s, presumably based on the Leeds one.  Instead of marching on together it was Steaming All Together, we will steam some heads......we are

so proud, we sing it out loud, for the Wan-der-ers.   Steaming!!

I get what you mean about some Utd songs being choreographed, but in fairness that cock of the north song has been around since the 70s so fair enough for keeping an historic song going whether its great or not.

A simple but effective song at Burnden that we all joined in to - "we are Bolton, we are Bolton, super Bolton, from the North....".  Not amazing, but I always found it uplifting if a couple of thousand were belting it out.  No songsheet needed to get that one resurrected.

The advantage of just chanting the score was that you had to do it whilst pointing at the opposition fans, holding up the correct number of fingers per goal.  Looked quite effective from a distance, with arms waving, always enjoyed it when Manny Rd did that to the away fans and I was watching from Burnden side, even if they weren't always loud enough to be heard!

Twas in the year of 58, the merry month of May

I was ready to post born slippy

Down at Wycombe at the start of last season our support was superb, and i remember our fans doing a great job of “Sweet Caroline” obviously helped that it was being played over th P.A. system, but our fans drowned it out. Sounded pretty good.
