FGR Away

Ten more games and they dont come any bigger than this one.

Two years ago I never ever thought we would ever been playing this village club but we are down here and we need to go out and win this.

Need a much better performance than the last two games but we have the players that can win there

Anybody else worried about the level of performance in recent weeks. Let’s be honest, today we were poor in possession and going forward. I’d like to see us put games to bed

Nope - I'm having to think a long way back until I can remember genuinely thinking we were creaking under pressure.

And I still think we've another couple of gears.

Yes, the unbeaten run will end eventually,  hopefully next season.

Don't need to be thrashing teams but be nice to be a bit more comfortable towards the end.

I get that Rudy but we could easily have lost today and we’re relying on clubs not taking their chances, when we have enough in the squad to be winning these games comfortably. The last couple of games we’ve reverted back to this slowly, slowly sideways stuff instead of the quick pass and move we showed against Bradford and Cambridge. In fact I think at times today we looked sloppy and cocky as if we thought it was just all too easy. That’s an attitude they need to drop quickly and do more to win games comfortably then we’re not hanging on.

I think you forget this was 5th against 3rd.

I never thought for one minute today the team that was 2 places above us was going to beat us

To win and leapfrog them and put ourselves in a dominant position is all that matters... surely?

We have to be better going forward if we are going to win the league.

And against comfortably the best team I've seen us play this season.

Wouldn’t bother me if it ends at Crawley because the players are still pissed from sealing promotion the week before

Really? Do we? Why?

Sorry, was replying to Mount's post re Morecombe 👍

Because we have games coming up against sides that can find the net. We can’t keep relying on 1-0 leads as it will bite you in the arse

Utter shit. Sorry but you always find a negative. At no point today did i think we are being cocky. What absolute tosh. We are a good side that of course can improve but we were very comfortable today without hitting the heights. One thing i think you cant fault since this run began is the managers or players attitudes.

Really ?

Gilks did not make a save, they had one real chance when John got back. Gilks was brilliant taking a few crosses . Not sure how that becomes 'easily lost' . We were slower today but that is the difference when you are a goal up against a team above you in the league.

Today was simply a professional job that we executed well. Of course would love us to be 2 or 3 up but would rather we kept our shape and deny the opposition any real chances or build up of pressure. Is that 13 unbeaten with 35 points from 39 ?

I think Gnahoua is very unlucky not to be starting & that Elbadouzi's pace could make us more of a threat going forward, however, our results are fantastic of late & I'll leave it to IE to do his job & trust him to get us promoted.

I like the fact that we now have an identity as a team & a good team spirit. I think we may have to be patient again if/when we do go up as the quality of opposition improves but with a plan in place & a style of play established recruitment should be easier as we will be able to identify players to suite our system, rather than the scattergun approach of recent years.

I'd hate to jinx anything but I think we may be about to finally hit some good times again. 😊

All about game management what’s the point in going at 90% when we’re not only in control but winning, it’s about going through the gears, dictating the tempo and play when we want to

Think some folk are also overlooking the fact that they played ok and pressured us a fair bit.

We aren't always going to have things our own way.

That said I thought we saw the game out pretty comfortably.

We won, all that matters

As we've seen before, Evatt only changes things when they need changing. If we'd gone 1-0 down in the first half rather than 1-0 up, I'm entirely confident our second half performance would have been worlds apart from what we saw today. As it went, we took our foot off the gas and soaked up their pressure, and secured 3 points. Obviously it would be nice to smash someone by 3 or 4, but Evatt knows exactly what he's doing.

I think it's been overlooked how much the swirling wind affected both teams but we stayed compact & dug in.

I may regret this post as I’m looking at the clock at 6pm and feeling like it’s a lot later having started drinking at 11.30 and normally (because I’d hopefully be travelling home from FG) I wouldn’t be trying to compose some text, but who on earth are you referring to as sides that can find the net and beat us? When we have beaten Cheltenham, beaten Cambridge and beaten FG?

Save time and do not say 'beaten' everytime 😂😎

Exactly and its finding the net against our superb (so far) defence that matters

5 teams have scored more than Forest Green this season.

We have two of them to play again (Morecambe & Exeter).

Living life on the Veg Mr Dale isn’t the way to promotion 😉

If only it was that simple.

Newport, Salford, Exeter, Morecambe... all teams capable of scoring goals
