Meanwhile in Israel

Is it kicking off big time or is this just everyday stuff they deal with or a bit of both?

👍. Aye, I was just generalising about this thread in the earlier comment.

It's all too complicated for our tiny brains folks. We the great unwashed are not qualified to have an opinion based on what our eyes and daily experiences tell us. We are below the salt.

Instead we have to listen to the self-designated clever people provide us with their extensive analysis. All delivered like the sermon from the mount. The analysis leads to exactly the conclusion you'd have imagined it would do before a word was spoken.

Challenge this orthodoxy and you'll be met with a pained expression (as if a bitter lemon has just been consumed) and a furrowed brow. Your views will be labelled anything on a spectrum starting from "dodgy" and ending at "fascist"

The world is an undergraduate essay. It is beyond our comprehension. Listen to the experts. Think what they tell you to think.

Challenge what orthodoxy? No one is labelling anyone, just that its not as simplistic as some of the theories on the posts posit.

This isn't patronising, it isn't brow-beating the common-man, it certainly isn't calling anyone stupid or ill-informed. It's simply stating that ideas that over-simplify issues cause more problems than they solve and that things are not binary and need context.

If you feel you need to belittle to try and shut down any reasoned post that develops this idea, I suggest that the problem does lie with you and I have no issue calling out your rhetoric for what is it, and that in a healthy society, with normative debates on such topics, this is allowed.

Paranoia isn't healthy, you know, Paul.

It’s quite staggering really. I once worked, sadly , with an individual who believed he was better than everybody else and behaved as such. But he was completely blind to it and went round accusing others of everything he did. It was quite bizarre then. It still is now 😎

There are awful things happening to the Jewish Community all across the world [Not just in the last two weeks]

In New York the Haredi Jewish community are subject to physical assaults mainly by the black community - numerous videos are on Twitter showing people being beaten up in the street for being Jewish

In France they are attacked by Algerian and Moroccan communities.

In the UK Jewish Communities have self defence organisations, Shomrim to protect their areas. Jewish Schools have additional security.

In Jerusalem Jews have been attacked across the City for weeks leading up to the recent outbreak.

At least in Israel they are now able to protect themselves unlike the Jews who were murdered in the Hebron massacre of 1929.

The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem during WW2 had a very unsavoury relationship with the Nazi's in his attempts to oppose Jewish immigration.

The Jews of Israel have been under attack ever since 1948 and have been more restrained than any Arab army in their response, they know that if they ever lose they will be be massacred. That's what "From the Jordon to the Sea" means.

Don't forget the vast majority of Jews who left Arab lands post 1948 were expelled, left with nothing having lived in those countries for many centuries/millenia. 850,000. more than the number of arabs who left Israel to live in refugee camps for 70 years.

With regards to the UK I hope that any people found guilty of racist/anti semitic attacks are dealt with appropriately by our judicial system.

I am not saying that the Israelis are blameless and they have their own extremists. However, ordinary Arabs in Israel are in many respects treated better than Arabs in many Middle Eastern countries.

I reckon Tony is a Muslim.

People take sides for many reasons. Separating the politics of Israel and Judaism is complex.

Ill just post this because I probably won’t have a better chance of posting it. It may be relevant, it may not.

I'm looking forward to seeing Nic's reaction when Mel Gibson is cast to play Martin Luther King 😃

Whilst we were discussing folk being a tad biased and not appreciating the backwards stone throwers, this was happening not far from the superior one (in his head)

The government spend millions every year on private security for Jewish communities

These attacks do seem a bit one-sided 😕

And here we have the youth arm of the proscribed terrorist group Hamas, wearing the 2021 summer range of CP bullet proof vest complete with the obligatory infra red night goggles, all for a bargain price of £599.99

When you drag your kids up this way, what chance have they got in life ?

Again, was there a class some of you missed? I know it's cosy to congratulate yourself on agreeing with each other, and bring masters of your known universe, but I'm honestly not sure you understand the real deep seated irony of your position.

I've only asked for context and a few simple answers, context, like experts, seems to be ditched for rhetoric and entrenched positions. Neither seem forthcoming. Again, I think that is OK to show it for what it is.

It's interesting the Miami is demonstrating the point I'veade over and over again. He's doing a job better than I ever could.

What are you babbling on about ?

Do you not like the facts ? Get a grip lad and face reality.....you are trying too hard now.

Just glad for the ceasefire and senseless lives being lost.

You had an irony class at your school? We had Woodwork and Metalwork and stuff like that. I was particularly good at Geometrical and Engineering Drawing.
How about you?

Didn't want to slave over those books.

I can’t really comment other than there is very little difference between condescending middle class pricks and upper class condescending pricks.

They just don’t see it.
