Radio. The wireless.

My radio journey started with Radio 1. I officially listened for the last time in around the year 2008 (might be earlier), but Mark and Lard were the dogs bollocks for a long time but then I switched the dial to Radio6 and Absolute.

Steve Wright in the Afternoon back in the late 80's was something i would religiously listen to, think he was the first person to introduce "characters" to mainstream radio and I even built up a labouriously edited tape collection of the better ones. (Eeeeaaaasssyyyy Life)

If I'm in the car and not listening to podcasts or my own tunes, I'll generally stick to Radio 6, can't be fucked with the sport talk type channels as they can spin out a conversation regarding Ronaldo for a week and not draw breath, exceptionally dull.

Shocker that 6 have let Shaun Keaveney go, absolutely no need.

Used to listen to Jimmy Wagg (WOW?) on GMR with my mum every sunday years back.

I still listen to Christian O Connell even though his show is now in Melbourne.

It's just there, t'radio. Love it I do.

Who do we all listen to?

(Crawley will be Radio 4, I'd wager)

What? Even in the morning making a bit of toast?

Only time I hear the radio is if the wife puts some banal shit on whilst we're out.

Kinky.

Back in the day Peter Jones doing the footy on R2 (which was the sport channel back in the 70s); class, as was Jimmy Armfield later on R5.

Tommy Vance - "TV on the radio". Mind you, looking him up on wiki his real name was apparently Richard Anthony Crispian Francis Prew Hope-Weston 🤨

"RACFPHW on the radio" isn't quite as catchy...

Used to get call outs from kids who'd written in that made me laugh in the late 70s. Tried to sound "metal" but there was usually a give-away...

e.g. "To Sex-Wolf, from Rock-God. Good luck with your O-Levels".

Classic fm.

Radio 4.

5 live for sport (and sports extra)

Smooth/absolute whatever/spurious rock stations intermittently depending who is in the van.

Is there an Ipswich radio- might be worth a listen...

Rarely listen to radio since Spotify came along and only ever in the car if Jonny Vaughan or 606 is on

Also enjoy Pick Of The Pops if it's 80s or 90s, I like the sound of Paul Gambaccini's voice, he could follow me round narrating my day if he wants

Be better at someone else's funeral, you won't hear him at your own.

Radio is for cars.

And the kitchen. Unless you are one of those oiks who has a TV in the kitchen.

Nothing better than doing a bit of cooking and listening to the radio - I actually perefer lisetning to matches than watching them if its not Bolton.

Not having  a funeral, I've told the missus to do one of those cheapo incinerations like David Bowie and chuck me into the wheelie bin

If you get chance go to one of his shows , top night out

Even laughed when I said to him everyone’s dead Dave

I've seen him twice and both times he looked like he'd had more pills than the crowd - which I count as a plus! 😁

For me radio reached its apex with Butch Schlong & Snatch Friggett and the American Sports Network at W.A.N.K. Cincinnati 👍
