Phoenix Club Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 From Sky Sports : French minnows Entente Sannois Saint-Gratien have made an audacious bid to sign Youri Djorkaeff. The 36-year-old is currently with Blackburn Rovers, whom he joined earlier this season after leaving Bolton in the summer. His contract with Blackburn expires at the end of the month and it appears Mark Hughes will not be offering him a renewal. SSG's major shareholder Luc Dayan has now approached Djorkaeff with the offer to play for the National League side. SSG currently lie mid-table in the French National League - which is the third tier of football in France. According to a number of French sources, Djorkaeff is ready to accept SSG's overtures and move back to play in his homeland for the first time since 1996. http://skysports.planetfootball.com/list.a...+Djorkaeff+coup
Phoenix Club Posted December 7, 2004 Author Posted December 7, 2004 Agree. Looks like Sam got it right afterall. In Sam we trust
Zico Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 well no one else has filled the right side slot since he left I'd wouldn't mind seeing him back
Zico Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 nolan, stelios, diouf? diouf plays predominantly on the left and the other two haven't exactly excelled in that role not like Youri used to... on occasions, best be careful here he was ineffective at times but more often that not he was tip top there you go, a balanced arguement
HomerJay Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 youri played left quite often, when stelios or mendy played only on the right when peders played. youri aint upto it... sad but true... anyway, i think sams thought is any of the supporting wide men can play left or right coz they swap during the match....

I disagree, arguments on here are usually quite balanced with the exception with the odd COCK or CUNTSHOVELLER remark... at least opinions are allowed, unlike over on the official and rivals boards, where if you dont follow the norm and think bolton are 'ace' are 'disgraceful' your a gary neville who knows fook all...
Zico Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 youri played left quite often, when stelios or mendy played only on the right when peders played. youri aint upto it... sad but true... anyway, i think sams thought is any of the supporting wide men can play left or right coz they swap during the match.... well if I may I will take his last 5 games for Bolton as a form guide to assess how up to it he was he scored 4 in 5 we won 4 of these games of course other players were involved in this run, others played well, and at times Youri played guff - again, that's form, all players suffer from it Alladyce also I believe said Youri tired towards the end of games and thus he wanted to play him sparingly on a pay as you play type deal that may suggest he is past it but I haven't seen anything this season to say we would've been worse off playing Youri for 75 minutes in matches and then subbing him for Stelios, Pedersen, whoever he was Blackburn's man of the match on his debut as well I don't think he's past it, he just couldn't see eye to eye with Alladyce with how he should be used during matches, and if he could've done he'd still be here playing a big part he's missed the boat and won't be coming back but for me that's a shame as from what I saw of him last season and what I've seen this season I think he could still definitely do a job for us and make us better he is also the best player I've seen in terms of linking up with Okocha, maybe the lack of that extra bit of class is not helping our captain perform to the best of his ability as well but that could be the fact he's not 100% fit
Carlos Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 I'm just glad he prob won't be playing against us, and therefore be tainted in my eyes.
Smiley Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 It would be good for him to be thrown on for last 5 minutes against Bolton. Then at least we may have the chance to show some appreciation, which we didn't get the chance to at the end of last season - when we didn't know he was leaving. Remember when Andy Walker ran out for Sheffield Utd at Burnden - literally 2 minutes to go - the whole ground stood and applauded him. Youri could swap shirts with Jay Jay at the end and come over to us wearing the White shirt again. Would be a good touch. Ian - get the campaign in motion.
