yon jewish chap wanted disorder for his video

That kind of common sense ain’t welcome here.

Doesn’t fit the nonsense narrative of London being a multicultural hellhole where Jews can’t go where they want.

Best not mention that Jewish groups have been protesting alongside the Palestine marches either.

Anyway - apparently the person who posted the video isn't important in any of this 🙄

As usual, it turns out he is. The guy in the video who the copper is talking to is Gideon Falter, the same guy who goes on to say it is not safe for him in his Twitter speech. Turns out he's the vice chairman of the Jewish National Front. They're actively involved in the evictions of Palestinians in the West Bank and fund the development of the land once Jewish settlers move in.

They've donated hundreds of thousands to the CAA.

Someone involved in brutally evicting Palestinians from their land, complaining that a copper won't let them go over to a Pro Palestine march. Is there an Irony Meter for this?

I'd say considering who the fella is, the copper made a pretty wise decision, despite his offensive choice of language.

Aye

https://www.itv.com/news/2023-11-09/i-was-terrified-islamophobic-incidents-up-by-600-in-uk-since-hamas-attack

There has been a rise in Antisemitic & Islamophobic incidents. Not condoning it, but let's not exaggerate the narrative.

My point is the guy in your video has a very clear motive. And can't really complain about antisemitism, whilst being involved in evicting innocent Muslims from their land. Victim my arse.

If he was with his JNF mates then I assume the copper would have had his suspicions. The video doesn't show us either way. So it'll be up to the copper to state his suspicions, not me 🙂

Fact is he's an extremist with a clear motive to manipulate the story in his favour and play the victim. He's done a good job of it to be fair, it's headline news. Just a bit bonkers that you argue sources aren't important, when the fella posting it tells Palestinians they can't stay in their homes, yet has a meltdown when a copper tells him to keep away.

Because the point I was making was it’s 2024 in London and the officer said you can’t go over there because you are Jewish. (Not because of who you represent or what your views are). Basically  people who are protesting for peace might want to fill you in 😂 get your head around that.

I've got my head around it fine thanks pal, it's you who missed the important extra detail. No surprises there though 😂

Truth is we don't yet know the full reasons why the copper prevented a group of JNF lads from heading over to the march. Considering there was Jewish people marching alongside the pro Palestinian folk, I think there's a bit more to it.

His choice of language was the problem.

Good to see you taking a stand against racism though ❤️ Don't let my point of view get in the way.

Because they were openly Jewish. Thats the coppers words and reasoning. I will go with that, unless he was lying and you know about it?

The same language I criticised 👍

Just pointing out the extremist behind the video pal. It's blatantly obvious he was looking for a story, and not just out for a 'walk'.

Police officers having to make snap decisions in the moment and being recorded and scrutinised every moment. It's not footballers who have 90 mins a week to get it spot on, its 40+ hours a week.

Lets him past and it all kicks off, he's at fault. Tries to stop them, uses the wrong word, no idea what he might have said instead "Sorry Sir you are clearly Jewish and heading over there might invite trouble at this particular time".

Going to end up with no coppers left, because the level of accountability in public service has gone barmy.

Or alternatively, those in charge could stop placing their officers in difficult positions

They have to be there though and that's part of the issue, they can either let it go ahead, and have officers in awkward situations, or stop the marches and have them take place anyway, putting officers in awkward situations.

This whole culture of trying to find offence everywhere needs to end. Amazing how many people give the police shit and then cry to them at the first given opportunity. End of the day "Openly Jewish" means the guy is sharing his faith without reservation. The guys wearing a skull cap, that's pretty much sharing what faith you are.

It's the suggestion that his open Jewishness is likely to antagonise that's the problem, not simply the observation that he's Jewish

Nothing more than clumsy language from the officer perhaps, but it's a symptom of a bigger issue

We are where we are because of operational and political failures

thats what I'm trying to say, clumsy language, I'm often guilty of saying the wrong thing and causing offence. Not me being nasty just impossible to fully proof read every single thing you say before saying it.

This is where I'm at. Daft thing to say and there's a good chance this copper is a broken man seeing how all this has unfolded. And there's calls for the Commissioner to resign because of a poor turn of phrase from one of his officers.

The world has gone bonkers. I hate all this shit me. I'm sick of it!

Couldn't agree more. Depressing nonsense.

The choice of language is absolutely awful. But the usual calling for heads and resignations before any learning can be done.

What seems to have been missed is that the lad was with a larger group who the officer also referred to. These are an active group who have a history of attending Pro Palestine events and antagonising people. They have a right to do that of course, but they weren't just 'out for a walk after Synagogue'. The officer had a call to make to keep the peace.

The group he was with have also been criticised for inventing their own dubious definition of antisemitism, where any criticism of Israel is classed as racist. They've harassed people before & hounded people out of jobs for simply criticising Israel.

As the police have said, the majority on these protests are peaceful and not antisemitic. They need to do more to target those peddling conspiracy theories and racist tropes. Which is where I agree with some of the statement above.

The people calling on the Comissioner to resign - I'm not one of them - aren't doing so the basis of that incident alone
