One in 12 people in London is an illegal immigrant.

One million throughout the country.

Forget legal ones.

Beggars belief.

If it's true, then that's ridiculous - the good news I suppose is that it means there are c750K in London, and only c250K scattered throughout the rest of the UK

Telegraph. Sure that will be enough to dismiss the ‘source’ by people on here who are quite happy to believe anything Hamas (a terrorist organisation) say. The ‘source’ is important.

The one million figure has been spoken about for years

The London figure is being widely reported today.

Thought London was an expensive place to live. How do they afford it?

10 - 15 to a house, payment is made via earnings from car washes, cannabis  farms, takeaways……

knew some australian travellers who shared a house down there

4 or 5 to a room, sleeping on mattresses

same with some polish lads I knew who came to Manchester when doing so was a thing

loads of them crammed into a flat in moss side

easily done if you're not bothered about a room to yourself or a double bed

And the reason it was held back until now is because the Telegraph have an agenda. Labour inherited the problem from the Tories who massively failed to curb illegal immigration despite all the rhetoric. That is important.

Good, so there was no agenda then. Happy days, just reporting on what’s happening

Of course the telegraph has an agenda.

Just like the home office do, and all sorts of politicians do.

That's the whole point of the press- to report what is being hidden.

It's a bad to when they have to put in an FOI to a water company, for access to research documents, to get relevant data.

You keep making it a party issue, when it's more than that.

For decades they've all ignored the issue, and put their head in the sand- for the very same reasons as the grooming gangs' victims weren't protected and helped.

A degree of short term financial reasoning behind it too.

It's shot them all in the foot, and there is still no evidence that the main parties are willing to get to grips with it properly.

Of course the Telegraph has no agenda🤔 There will be a perfectly good reason why they waited 5 years to give us their latest report

The 1 in 12 in London, thats utter horse shit.

It does seem implausibly high.

If the population of London is 9,000,000 roughly. That would mean 750,000 illegal immigrants to make it 1 in 12.

Other reports are putting the total number of illegal migrants in the UK at somewhere between 600,000 and 1.4 million.

Which would mean even if the highest figure from this report is to believed - half of them would need to be living in London.

I'm not saying it's wrong. But it doesn't pass the first glance test for me.

I'd be interested to see who the authors are. What other reports looking into similar subjects have concluded. Whether it's been peer reviewed and what their comments were.

The usual critical analysis stuff really.
