December 4, 20223 yr Maybe the "victim" was deliberately angling for the story. Old lady gave it to her. She certainly shouldn't have pursued it, as much as anything because I'm sure she's met a few cunts in her life. Having said that, in her twilight years, maybe she doesn't give a fuck anymore.

My point was it's not for people on here to decide who was and wasn't educated. If you felt it was nothing then fair do's. 5 minutes ago, globaldiver said: Thanks for proving my point. Serious question. Do you not think it’s strange that a woman who runs a charity for Black people only, gets upset when she’s questioned about her ethnicity? Do you not see how this whole episode creates division not cohesion?

Or someone raising funds for Ukrainians is a selfish bastard because they're ignoring Yemen. Her reasons for it being a black charity seem completely understandable for me. But you are still clear that Hussey was racist, she was removed (sacked/resigned?) within 4 hours, someone in the Royal Family was judge , jury and executioner, based on the evidence provided. It doesn’t seem fair to me. If what she was supposed to have would have been racist and she should pay the price, but in an appropriate way. This seems not to have been the case, more a kangaroo court. Edited December 4, 20223 yr by globaldiver

The lady resigned and apologised. Some people have listened and others haven't.

That it has exploded again might be due to matters other than race?

The word racism is banded about all too often with no context. We all hold racist judgements to some degree. And by all, I mean every race. I've certainly made judgements before and had shit I've had to learn from. Haven't we all? It's a scale. On the one hand you've tiny microaggression like Hussey's . On the other hand, you've got the extremists having panick attacks over the Muslim invasion and saying shit like London is lost. Hussey isn't a bad person. She's apologised, paid a consequence and will no doubt learn from it. Fair play to her for apologising. If it was made up she would have said so. Edited December 4, 20223 yr by London Wanderer

I've heard more than one person on here arguing we're one of the most inclusive countries in the world. That has to go hand in hand with race relations improving? Look at the England squad for a start. Seems there was plenty racial tension around in the 80s. Maybe some things have improved, and others have got worse.

They wouldn’t refuse a mixed race lady 😂 Their reasons for focusing on African & Caribbean heritage women are perfectly reasonable. I’m assuming you haven’t been a victim of domestic abuse - victims say a safe space is important where they can access support and feel comfortable. Historically the police haven’t had the best track record in response. Muslim domestic abuse charities exist. Are they racist too? This is no different. Trying to flip it on it’s head that it’s racist is bollocks.
