Johnny Foreigner Owners Want To Scrap Relegation From Prem

LMA chief reckons it could be a goer if enough foreigners are in control of top flight Clubs.

This would be a load of bollocks and would effectively leave 8 - 10 teams in the Premier League with a non-existence of lower table mediocrity. Not to mention the uproar from lower league Clubs.

I think a lot of UK owned clubs would fancy that as well TBH.

Gartside will be intching to sign the deal

As long as we are in when they scrap it then go for it

If this comes into English Football then it will not be long before they introduce an election system based on the financial structure, attendances etc rather than performances!

They say that the dropping out of the premier league is too much a financial burden, but surely clubs in the bottom end of the league must have wised up by now and have all staff on relegation clauses for their contracts?

The day this happens is the day i stop going whether we're in it or not. Awful idea

Would give us some insurance, knowing we can't go down, meaning we wouldn't be liquidationified because of debt, but it's a shite idea, relegation and promotion are what make the game.

...we wouldn't be liquidationified

WTF?

and thats our word of the week

WTF?

I think he's referring to potential bankruptification. :pardon:

It might also lead to administrationalisation

It's just another step in the natural progression along the big clubs' agenda.

# Home club keeps all the receipts, to generate more income.

# Form the Premier League, to generate more income.

# Force UEFA to change the Champions League to allow 4 clubs per top country, to milk more income from it.

# Generous loans system so the big clubs can have big player squads and yet keep most players happy while they're developed by other clubs.

# More gaps in the match calendar for lucrative foreign trips to add more income (work in progress).

# '39th' match abroad somewhere, to generate more 'PR' & more income (shelved for the moment).

# Clubs to negotiate their own TV rights (work in progress).

# Reserve teams to play in the Football League (waiting for the right time).

# Move to a franchise system with no relegation/promotion (waiting for the right time).

# European Super League (if all else fails).

The medium clubs should wake up some time and smell the coffee.

But we wont be.

It'll happen when they get the "right" clubs in the top flight.

If it did happen, it would be so dull it would be frightening, teams fighting for survival (as well as going for the league)are what make it half intersting from Christmas onwards. We would get to a stage where teams started resting players for all league games, in order to concentrate on the cups....the polar opposite of what we have now

If that happens it's the start on nonleagueification of my support.

Just a point, our very own chairman proposed a very similar scheme did he not?

2 tier premier league with promotion and relegation between the 2

but limited access for those outside the lucky 40 or so elected to the new league.

i think by the 'right' clubs he means the fallen giants

Leeds

Forest

Shef Wed

Sheff Utd

West Ham

etc

All those teams are in the top 20... along with us.

These pricks couldn't give a shite about football, only about making money. I would boycott the games if any of them got their way until they all jogged on.

Spirit, I like those lists  .

Frank is right, I meant the clubs seen as more glamorous than us.

(We know we're the best club in the world  ).

Sadly, these days money talks and we'll never have enough of it.

The franchise system someone mentions is also how "they'll" get Rangers and Celtic in  .

Be an 18 team league too I reckon.

Be a disgrace if it happens.

18 teams (franchises) ideal to those selling the premier league as a national sport?

4 London Teams - Arsenal, Spuz, Chelsea and West Ham (they won the world cup dontcha know)

4 north west sides - Citeh, Manyoo, Liverpool and Everton

the 2 glasgow fuckers (fuck it move one of em to Belfast and we can get Norn Iron in there too)

Leeds

Sheffield Weds

Forest

Newcastle and Sunlun

Cardiff

a south west side possibly Southampton?

one more?

Aston Villa?

Aston Villa?

And Birmingham will swear they're a bigger club than them.

You will then get teams being formed to fast track themselves into the league

How about a team made up from the 2 Bristol clubs and maybe Plymouth?

Mike Parry would wet himself
