Supergrass reunion gig tonight

no new album, so classics only

lovely

Gaz Coombes solo stuff is ace, last album was excellent.

£140 for Albania Morrissette? I’d honestly expect a meet’n’greet’n’blowjob for that

Alanis Morissette tickets went on sale today for Arena, was considering it (Garbage supporting, first band I ever loved) but at £140+ for a central ticket you can er, fuck off.

Everyone at Uni had Jagged Little Pill

Between them that could be a good set / night

I could be tempted by £30 at the Ritz

Even though from looking at her I reckon AM smells of piss and biscuits

Oh reeks, reeks. Probably lives in a squalid house with rugs for wallpaper and spent incense sticks everywhere too. Cat hair all over the couches and watches Office Space at least once a week.

Probably.

Edit - Thinking about it I've just based that entirely on my mate's fat scabby ex I don't know why I've applied it to Morissette.

Like Frank says, I still think more than £30 for anyone is a joke.

A quick look though and the likes of Elbow, Stranglers, Weller, Jason Donovan are all charging £50+

Black Crowes are £80. Keeps the riffraff out I suppose.

Nile Rodgers and The Specials I catch them every time they’re around and usually pay £50, but they’re belting gigs.
Stevie Wonder is the only one I’d pay £100 for because I have never have and might not get many more chances to see him.

Neil Young would a get a slice of my reddies but fuck knows which Neil would turn up. It could be the country rock Neil Young or it could be the Electro robot voice Neil Young. I saw him climb in a sleeping bag onstage and lie down and sing from that. Batshit crazy that mon.

Unless the Doors resurrect Jimmy Morrison and do a comeback gig at the go go everyone else can get to fuck.

In my head gigs are still priced as they were in 1998

So hop and grape is a fiver

MDH a tenner

Academy 15 quid

Apollo 20-30

Arena about 45/50

75 for an all dayer at the cricket club.

Think you're bit out with those arena prices in the 90s, plenty gigs were £25-30 in the noughties, otherwise i wouldn't have

Kasabian £15 academy one then £23.50 at the Apollo

Kings of Leon £25. Arena

The Enemy £18 Apollo

Oasis at Heaton Park supported by Reverend and The Makers, The Enemy and Kasabian. £50

That Kasabian gig at the academy - was it in June/July about 2010? If so, I went to it and it must have been 120 degrees in there. Think they oversold tickets too as it was fckin rammers, but my god what a gig.

When they did ClubFoot I actually thought people might die.

Yeah it was. It was mental, couldn’t move thought I was gonna pass out. Never seen them do a bad gig

I was at that too, drenched from head to toe when i got out

It was a warm up gig for Glastonbury and probably the best time and venue to see them after 3 albums

But they could've opened to side doors

Aye, that’s the one. They had a sold out arena tour later that year I think but they were at the top of their game that night.

Buying 4 Red Stripe to avoid queueing in that heat basically meant I was drinking Lager Tea for an hour.

Great night.

Depends what it is, I’ve sold tickets at £70 for a film with an orchestra. Bands/artists people will pay through the nose for premium seats. You tailor the cheaper seats for different targets.

Festival business is still massive, even the small business has ones do very well. Download is second only to Glastonbury in terms of selling out, Leeds and Reading been tougher this year apparently

yeah, which is one of the reasons why I pick and choose my gigs these days as opposed to actively trying to attend at least one a week like i was doing 10-15 years ago

in the last 12 months done:

Demob Happy @ Soup Kitchen - £12, ace gig, bargain
Shed Seven @ Victoria Warehouse - bout £40, has become an annual event and was a new venue, no problem
Supergrass @ Victoria Warehouse - also bout £40, not seen them since their last gig in Paris in 2010, was worth every penny

coming up

Goldfrapp @ Albert Hall - £40 - never seen her before, new venue, no problem
Nick Cave @ Arena - £75 - I'd rather seen him somewhere else, but I'd also pay double
Faith No More @ Apollo - £55 - only seen them once before, in Glasgow, and paid £100 for tickets, hotel and train, again, I'd have paid double

gigs I'd like to go to but can fuck off:

Black Crowes - £70
Alanis Morrisette & Garbage - current lowest price, £176

would be tempted by Pet Shop Boys for £46 at the Arena but the only tickets left are at the back right at the top

Probably because they've changed the style of bands that are on. The traditional Leeds/reading crowd have no interest in the line up.

just had a look at the line up, I hope this means Rage Against The Machine fancy doing a tour of their own

I'd pay good money to see that

I’ve been dazed takes some beating off that album.

Which, by the way, was one of the best 3 of last year. Superb.
