  1. Haha I know think it's something to do with being outside the 5 mile exclusion zone for the hulton or something hulton is a shithole but they spend a lot so everyone is happy
  2. Another coach use the Hulton Arms for wigan.
  3. blackleywhite replied to Horwich's topic in Terrace Talk
Think the clubs get quite good prize money for EFL trophy so doubt they will vote to scrap it.
  4. Anyone been in White Lion in westhoughton? Meeting a mate in there later just wondering how busy it got?
  5. Sorry used my brain.
  6. Magnet is usually sold in places where there are steelworks, Sheffield, Middlesbrough, Scunthorpe etc. Its 1 % stronger than normal John Smith's I think. Remember supping it with Zozzy one Middlesbrough away day. Suffice it to say he fucked the game off and was poured back into the van afterwards...
  7. Funny that's been announced on the same day the inquiry report into Russian involvement in the election is published....
  8. No never heard of it tbh lived Moston side of blackley so went in mowers, bricklayers, old loom, museum all on Moston Lane. All very classy establishments as you can imagine... Ani and chief wiggum used to pick me up on the way from Leeds to go to the match at the 3 arrows just off the bottom of viccy ave tho.
  9. There's one next door!! Unfortunately I don't live there...
  10. I'm going to the White Lion on Saturday 👍
  11. 4 Lane ends consists of 2 pubs, Hulton Arms and the Red lion. Red Lion is a greene king restaurant wacky warehouse type place not a pub. I've not been in either since the lockdown. Trouble is they are walk/staggerable from my house as opposed to taxi to Atherton or Westhoughton. Nowt else nearby.
  12. Same as owt if its kept well its OK but my local is the Hulton Arms and they know about as much about running a pub as they do about splitting an atom its absolutely shite in there. As is everything else. Absolutely criminal how they've let the place go to rack and ruin appointing disinterested manager one after another.
  13. They sold Vaux in Walkden Cricket club donkeys years ago. Talking of shithole pubs.....
  14. Boddies was ace until then agreed. Tetley's from Leeds was far superior to the Warrington brew and was (and still is) excellent. Timothy Taylor Landlord is the nectar of the gods. All of the above depends on the correct keeping (and serving) of the beer. The Greyhound in Birstall was still using the old Vacupump (sp) system in 2005 when I last went in and that was and still is the best pint (of Tetley's) i've ever had...
  15. Do they do Timothy Taylor landlord in the Bob Smithy?
  16. Mosborough seems a nice place quite a lot of new builds in area and quite a village feel even though its only 10 mins from centre. Also Whirlow is very nice and again 5 minutes down the hill to town centre. I delivered around Sheffield for about 6 months late last year .
  17. Its nowt to do with wigan rl. Its the chairman of Wigan rl and some other investors wanting to buy the club. The two would still be completely separate. However it could work out well for the rl team as they have to pay rent to the football team to use the stadium. Wouldn't it be lovely if the rl chairman bought the football club then ran it into the ground and delivered them back to non league...
  18. Think it was called the kippax
  19. Oldham Road or Oldham st? There's hardly any pubs on oldham Rd until you get to Failsworth other than the couple mentioned already. There used to be one down the side of weir pumps between oldham Rd and briscoe Lane in Newton heath that changed to a man City themed place after they moved there.
  20. No signings today? Booooooo Evatt out.
  21. No that was called the woolpack I think right next to Eddie Coleman Court. Me and a few mates judged the talent show in there once never seen owt like it...Flemish was other end of flats almost opposite where McDonald's is.
  22. Flemish Weaver bottom of Salford flats. First week of uni went in with a mate unaware of its reputation and hustled a lad at pool. Still to this day wonder how we got out alive.
  23. Funny, he never mentions it......
  24. Haha was looking at there actually..I'll fuck it off. Mrs' family originate from Sedburgh to the point that last time we went there with her late dad a local bloke started talking to him convinced he was Frank who owned the paper shop and wouldn't have it that he wasn't!!
  25. Oh aye posh as fuck Horwich 😂
