Proper Shithole Pubs.

With the lockdown ending and most of the drinking establishments getting a lick of paint, i remember going in the Crown pub in Tyldesley, it was off the main drag and hardly used, a proper Walkers pub built near a mill. Place was falling apart, outside bogs with a stench what rats would even venture clear, and a clientele of us underage drinkers and old men with missing limbs.

Any pub with a flat roof has to be avoided.

That little area was awash with pubs.

Tim Bobbin in Burnley. Went in on weekday tea time, place was rammed with pisscans dancing on the furniture.

Clitheroe Kate’s in Blackburn, fucking disgusting with draft lager that felt like you were chewing it rather than supping it.

Trades club in Haslingden, another establishment that gathers all the genuine folk.

McColl’s in Inverness.  Went in for a challenge after it was described as the roughest pub. Afternoon karaoke tells it’s own story.  Resembled the Star Wars bar. Was funny because I’d timed it on the bar crawl for my mates round and wanted to see how he’d handle ordering the drinks in this sweaty socks shithouse pub.

When I used to work at HB Electronics, we used to, on occassion frequent the General Havelock, what an utter shithole that place was

I used to go in the General havalock before games at Burnden, and the other close by , was it called the alma or the Alamo or something.

Once went in the Jaguar in Coventry, i thought it was ok but wife felt very uneasy.

There is a pub called " The Pub" in Lancaster, it seems rough but is actually a superb venue.

Gullivers in Manchester used to be a shithole I enjoyed going in, been done up now.

Blackburn used to have some cracking dumps. Still does to be fair but Pump House over the road from school was a shithole

Used to use the Havelock as well , forgotten who the brewery were but the ale was as good as the Cattle Market

for shitholes remember the Queens just of big roundabout at Rawtenstall ,just walking across the sticky carpet was hard work

They went through a spell of having topless barmaids on Sunday lunch late 80s / early 90s

Mountain Dew in Athy was one of the worst locally for many a year

The Sun inn behind Blackpool prom is as mad as it gets.

They set fire to all the furniture on bonfire night so all the furniture that’s now in the pub is regulars cast offs. One guy sat on a recliner next to a bloke sat on a deckchair.

They have a free to use microwave on bar so locals can nip to the shop next door and cook their own ready meals.

Bizarrely me and fengshui off here ended up in there off our trumpets one time. We had a game of pool and half the balls on the table were snooker balls :D

Which one is The Sun pal ? I know I've been in there but was most likely pickled too. Is The Mitre still open ?

Ironically on bolton street, directly behind the Dutton arms. Some mad gaffs along there, lifeboat inn etc.

Yeah mitre is alive and well, great gaff that. Presuming it’s outside only at the min as you can only fit 3 people in during normal time :D

Aye, that's the one. Stanley Arms is nearby too isn't it ?

Good to hear The Mitre is still going, a Bolton lad had it years ago

Going back a few years but ended up in there one night, few of us decided we'd do a few of the "shit hole pubs". The Mrs decided she didn't trust owt but vodka and lemonade from there, the guy put a half pint mug with a double in and then just slammed down a panda pop lemonade on the bar in front of her. 😂😂 Fuckin brilliant, her face was a picture.
