  1. Always like the opportunity to view/enjoy the game from a different area to the season ticket seat in a cup game. Hopefully should be a good atmosphere in the East Lower tonight.
  2. Yes, all be it for only 5 days, while on honeymoon 7 years ago. While we didn't travel a lot from our hotel base south of Nadi on the main island Viti Levu (I think!), what bit we did see was fantastic. Fantastic coast line on the south of the island, Coral Coast and great for snorkeling. The people are unbelievably friendly and get used to the word "Bula" Fijian for hello, you will find yourself saying it about 100 times a day! Would loved to have stayed longer and explored the place and culture.Have a great time!
  3. Last year didn't Spurs play a European game in that same week (Dec week before xmas) and have to re-arrange their Carling cup game?
  4. I am with you on this one 0 -2 Braaten, Davies and a much needed clean sheet
  5. Were you out with Wilhelmsson last night?
  6. I think its extremely difficult to gauge both fitness and form from what little of pre-season we see. LSL and the rest of the coaching staff have obviously seen traits in his behaviour/fitness/form that has meant he hasn't even figured in the squad yet. As for Wilhelmson being tucked up with the missus you couldn't blame him one bit!
  7. What a ridiculous statement. Do you know what kind of physical state Campo is in? Have you got inside knowledge that tells us Campo is physically and mentally ready to be thrown back into premiership action? Towards the end of last season there were numerous threads about how Campo should never play for us again, he's too slow, he gives the ball away, he is not the player he was etc etc. Personally I didn't agree with all of that. But on the opposite extreme an unfit, unplayed, unhappy Campo is certainly not the answer to all our problems. And as for not supporting Sammy Lee until this change? Outrageous Is Sammy Lee the answer, I am not sure yet, he certainly needs at least another 10 games IMO. And during whatever spell he is in charge he will get my full backing
  8. http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/wanderers/w...it_new_snag.php Looks like his trustworthy agent Peter Harrison thinks he should be on the same salary as Anelka.
  9. It is a fair point. But I bet those people who booed Heskey and Crouch (and who no doubt booed a host of other players previously such as Barnes, Ince as well as opponents national anthems) are the majority of those booing Bentley. Bolty, the general feel of your posts when talking of Bolton are usually positive and are concerned with getting behind the team and individuals. I can understand why this might be different with England with as you say expectation levels etc etc. But surely the same applies with your international team in that booing the team and its individuals is counter-productive. Surely the point has been made now with Bentley or do you think booing him should continue if he plays again?
  10. Why? Just because I offer a different opinion to the pevious 18 posts? As it happens I disagree with Bently's decision to decline playing for the under 21's. But for me punishment has been served. He has been questioned and lambasted from every section of the media and he missed out on the last squad. I think he realises people were and still are pretty pissed off with him. Move on.
  11. I think the booing culture amongst a certain sector of "England fans" is ridiculous. Heskey, Crouch and Lampard have all suffered unjustly now its Bently's turn. Grow up and get behind your team.
  12. Allardyce's influence - a major reason for a large majority of our quality signings over the last 8 years, Youri, Okocha, Campo etc etc
  13. When I turned up on Saturday and saw that I was surrounded by empty seats I was extremely disappointed. The 3 0 result in the main cheered me up considerably, but I was also impressed that of those fans who were in the East Upper a far lesser percentage left their seats early and there weren't as many moaning f#ckers. OK, this may largely be down to the result but maybe it's the future, less fans but those who do turn up making it a more enjoyable experience.
  14. Oh yes the Carrs loved that one! Shame they were sat on the opposite side of the ground!
  15. LSL took Vaz Te off at half time apparently because he was injured.
  16. http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wande...2th_signing.php LSL about to make his 12th signing
  17. I know I will be in the large minority here, but I don't think BSA has said much wrong on his spat with PG. In my opinion its about time bitter fans and Mr Gartside get over it and move on as BSA seems to have done.
  18. His stubborness, bending of the truth, manipulating the media and a lot more positive attributes are what make great managers look at Wenger and Ferguson. We accepeted this when BSA was our manager. He is one the greatest if not the greateast manager we have ever had, I will be showing my appreciation accordingly with polite applause and then getting behing Sammy and the boys for what I hope will be our first 3 points of the season.
  19. Agree completely. This signing along with the majority of others as well as Sammy Lee as manager is the complete unknown. Let's enjoy the ride
  20. 04/09/1982 Bolton 3 Newcastle 1 Henry 2 reid 1 Att - 17, 738 I remeber thinking my team were fantastic and would be back in the top league that my dad and brother talked about so fondly 3 years earlier. Little did I know what was ahead that season and for the next few "dark years"
  21. Its essential we get a good start. The long run in from March through to May is particularly tough, I really hope we are clear of the relegation pack
  22. My first bwfc game stood on the embankment. At the time I never quite understood why we could beat Newcastle at home and then later on in the season we were losing to teams like Oldham and Shrewsbury at home! For the record I will give BSA a good reception and hope this will be the onset for the good atmosphere needed to get behind the boys for our first victory.
  23. These private schools have a lot to answer for!
