Yes I think it was the FA Cup run that converted his loan.

The past is the past. We may not have a club come next week which makes reading fellow fans bickering over the virtues of ED really saddening. We can only look forward, hopefully together and if you were right all along pick any prize from the bottom shelf, it's worthless.

Sums up the last six months
  5. The money that was been spent, whether £1m or £200m was his choice, he can't live on past investment errors to justify his actions. It also doesn't give him the right to remove himself from his responsibilities as owner based on past glories. Not that anyone is ungrateful for his involvement but the music doesn't simply stop when he decides he's had enough. The news over the last couple of weeks does question whether the strongest bidder has actually won or its the ones who agreed to his whims.

It was exactly the same at their place
  7. Have a special 'Bolton Bust' sculpture in reception for him.

I'm trying to be positive LSL stylee. Our young centre half was outstanding, Pratley and Spearing worked their bollocks off. Overall there was little quality on show from either team but once again we looked at least as good as the opposition. We aren't in Villa's position getting dicked every week.
  9. More I would hate to see them profit out of our decline. Hopefully planning permission will come to build something at the Academy, like it was all green fields when Hawker Sidley were there.
  10. Fuck me them pie wipes will be waving tenners at us next time we play them. Sad times, makes my tea towel holder itch.
  11. Spoke to him about a current England international playing for us. When I asked if he was moving he said 'yeah but there's no way that fucking kerb crawler is signing him' I thought, good lad????

Rest in Peace, a very sad day for all concerned with our Club. My thoughts are with his family.
  13. Man in pub says deal was agreed last Friday due to go public soon. Hold the Bells, nothing about 48 hours though.
  14. Anyone know a good quality firm that does this? They want replacing not just some plastic nailing to the outside.
  15. Fair play they seem to have come an awful long way in a very short space of time. Pity some of them will be put off continuing their good work by balloons slagging them off on t'interweb.
  16. ED gets some deserved stick but I believe he is trying to give the ST as much chance as possible to be part of the new ownership structure.
  17. Very important 4.8 hours coming up

  19. I doubt the club can issue regular statements on the various negotiations that are happening. It's positive for the future that we aren't in a highest bidder scenario, from the various guesses doing the rounds it seems the club will go to the most sustainable bid prepared to put money in up front instead of waving around their mates bank balances. The collapse of the car park sale is a very interesting one, a sign the situation is changing daily.
  20. Is this the same car park the club sold with a debenture on in summer? Might explain both the lack of freeing up funds if there was an amount to pay off the loan plus why the deal was critical in terms of takeover. Hold the Melons
  21. That bizarre situation seems to be backed up by Lennon today but not for definite one needs to follow the other.

  23. The Government report issued today is quite timely. Whilst it is probably unrealistic that our club could be owned by the ST there are recommendations in the report to help with club purchase, tax status and sharing of skill sets amongst all ST's. The level of input our ST will have on the club will probably depend on how far it falls.
  24. Sheffield Wednesday, Forest, Blackburn, Cardiff, QPR, Middlesborough, Derby, Hull, Fulham all spending massively above their income. The stakes to gamble on promotion are getting higher and higher, there's plenty will end up where we are given promotion failure without suicidal financial governance. It's a band wagon we should be relieved to get off.
  25. Missed the two claps after each syllable. ...
