Who Should I Vote For
are the Traditional Unionists party having any effect on the unionist votes that you can tell yet? these are probably more likely to want to go back to what Casino was alluding to, from what I have read on them, which granted isn't that much, but just the impression i got.

Who Should I Vote For
Just been down to vote, for the fist time in my memory, I had to queue for about 20 mins to get in, the fella there said its been busier than he's ever known it,now, I wonder was this high turn out isolated to Breightmet,a sign that more are voting because they've had enough and want change, or has the TV debate thing captured more peoples interest due to the "X factor" society?

As Frank said in the other thread, the reason was to put a pedestrian crossing on the entry slip, now this is the bit I dont understand, as to put the pesdestrian crossing on they banned right turning traffic, which is where the majority of the traffic was coming from to require the pedestrian crossing in the first place,as no one turns left from Bradford St there due to the other slip, and only a few come straight across as it only leads them back to where they have just exited.so I still cant understand the need for the pedesrtian crossing together with the ban on right turning traffic, as the pedesrian crossing isnt really needed with little traffic coming that way.- Grimsby Fan Rant ....part 2
we played em in the first match of the season on two consecutive seasons if I remember rightly, went to both, remember in one game, just after the players had gone in after the warm up, one of our fans jumped on the pitch and started running with a ball that had been left out, towards the goal at their end backed by cheers from our end , one of theirs jumped out to be in goal and the Bolton lad scored past him, shook his hand and came running back to cheers of 1-0 etc from our end,no harm done and as far as I can remember he just climbed back into the crowd, obviously would be different story these days. anyone else remember that, or even know the lad who did it? or mabe even posts on here, wouldn't surprise me- Scousers. Dirty, Horrible Scousers.
I'd like to be associated with the views of the honourable gentleman above. Was also there, great place but by fuck there are some ignorant people from that city, they should have there own day to go there when the rest of us are at work. kids are kids so you accept a bit of behaviour from them, but when the parents of a lad of around 5, when catching their lad jumping the fence in the queue, say "go on lad fuck em, you get in there" rather than "no, wait you turn" or similar, something is very wrong, in my opinion in any case.- Whats You Pet Gripes
yeh, fair play, wasn't questioning you, just thinking out loud really, have seen the system at utc, as I deal with them and Siemens a lot in my work. (and you probably if your in the highways)- Whats You Pet Gripes
Thanks, and no, as you said, these things usually in response to accidents to justify, not sure if that many people have been knocked over crossing there, but I may be wrong. plus surely they could've linked the crossing to a left turn and right turn filter, allowing straight on traffic to carry on as normal? thus not needing an all red phase? Is the crossing just for the slip road?- Whats You Pet Gripes
what's the idea of stopping right turning traffic from Bradford road onto St Peters way? I can usually see what they ae tying to achieve with different road schemes, but cant work out any benefit from this.- Films That Were Miles Better Then You Expected
Watched one called "Surveillance", very good I thought.- E D L march
I'm sure they are against it,and I know what you're getting at, but "Republican" and "Loyalist" are the correct terms for it, as neither are based on religious ideology as their aim, unlike the (perceived) impression given by radical islam types, more political ideology, albeit a fact of that ideology is, republican mainly Catholic, Loyalist mainly Protestant, but neither are fighting/terrorising for a religious principle or insisting that "catholic" or "protestant" laws be implemented or upheld. That with the fact that you dont get many Irish over here of either persuasion demonstrating on the streets or recruiting in the churches (not that I know of anyway)and the fact that each of these groups states they are only after what they claim is theirs or to keep what they claim is theirs, as opposed to domination of Britain/the world, as the EDL believe radical islam is, probably is why, although carrying out just as reprehensible actions to achieve, the EDL probably think the government has them under control to an extent or its a political problem that is just a fact of life, whereas they believe they are letting radical Islam get bigger and bigger and see this as a threat to their way of life. of course all that could be shite, but its just the way i see it.- E D L march
Thats what i Meant when i said radical islam- E D L march
Absolute bollox, I have a few GAA shirts, was wearing one yesterday, (no where near town, just to do the garden), and I'd fall on side of the message of the EDL, that radical islam (not muslims) needs to be addressed, and certainly wouldn't go anywhere near the the other lot.(mainly fom the time the same type but a brick through my window at a motorway construction site, to try and prevent it being built, after thy'd all drove up in minibuses on the same type of road to get there. tree hugging hypocrites thats all they are)- E D L march
aye but they don't have experience of cleaning expensive suits, just farmers dungarees, so I left it- E D L march
couldn't see it, walked all over the place looking, was on bradshawgate down as far as that cash generator, asked in a few other shops and was told they had all shut. I had it in my head there was one there too in fairness- E D L march
A f?ckin dry cleaners for a start, needed a suit dry cleaning in a hurry,(well next day) so thought I'd go into town today, was sure there'd be a 24 hour return one somewhere, not a f?ckin one that I could find. Surely that's a sign of the decline, when it doesn't cater for people who wear suits occasionally? the place is a kip if any one spills blood on their shirt on Saturday, they're knackered for getting it cleaned- After Dinner Speakers - Your Favourites
worst I've seen was Dermot Gallagher, was at the moat house a few years ago, utter shite I thought. saw Wilf McGuinness at Breightmet labour club, he was ok to a point. best was Tommy Docherty, very funny.- Got Done
I agree it's dangerous and should be done for it, but can't understand why a specific law was brought in, surely the driving without due care and attention would've sufficed for anyone caught on a phone? personally I want them to ban hands free too, then driving from site to site would be a peaceful break again, rather than getting mithered to f?ck off idiots who know everything and won't listen when your on site then ring you to ask how to wipe their arses the minute you leave. sorry about the rant at the end, bad day- Time Machine Back To A Game
as well as some of the others mentioned, Exeter away, Andy Walkers first game, this time I wouldn't pay to get in either and climb through the connifer hedge at the back of the terrace like half of the others, and I wouldnt go for a pie and miss the goal.- Car Insurance
http://www.tescofinance.com/personal/finance/insurance/carins/index.jsp?atlassource=paid Try these, even if they don't come up as cheaper on the comparison websites, I rang them direct and got my insurance for ?200 cheaper than the next nearest and ?250 cheaper than quoted on the comparison and their own site, with few extras thrown in too, courtesy cars and breakdown cover being two of them.- Security Threat Levels
Got this today and found it funny, not sure if it's been posted before but thought I'd post it anyway. Some threat levels for all nationalities The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats and have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross." The English have not been "A Bit Cross" since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies all but ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from "Tiresome" to a "Bloody Nuisance." The last time the British issued a "Bloody Nuisance" warning level was in 1588 when threatened by the Spanish Armada. The Scots raised their threat level from "Pissed Off" to "Let's get the Bastards." They don't have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line of the British army for the last 300 years. The French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from "Run" to "Hide". The only two higher levels in France are "Collaborate" and "Surrender." The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France 's white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the country's military capability. It's not only the French who are on a heightened level of alert: Italy has increased the alert level from "Shout Loudly and Excitedly" to "Elaborate Military Posturing." Two more levels remain: "Ineffective Combat Operations" and "Change Sides.." The Germans also increased their alert state from "Disdainful Arrogance" to "Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs." They also have two higher levels: "Invade a Neighbor" and "Lose". Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual, and the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels . The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy. Americans meanwhile and as usual are carrying out pre-emptive strikes on all of their allies 'just in case'. Canada doesn't have any alert levels. New Zealand has also raised its security levels - from "baaa" to "BAAAA". Due to continuing defense cutbacks (the air force being a squadron of spotty teenagers flying paper airplanes and the navy some toy boats in the Prime Minister's bath), New Zealand only has one more level of escalation, which is "I hope Australia will come and rescue us". Australia , meanwhile, has raised its security level from "No worries" to "She'll be al'right, mate". Three more escalation levels remain: "Crikey!', "I think we'll need to cancel the barbie this weekend" and "The barbie is cancelled". So far no situation has ever warranted use of the final escalation level.- Road Works
they were there alright, six of 'em, saying road ahead closed, and access only to Lynstock ind area etc, but if you didnt see them, will have to put more on next time so thanks for the site audit input, let us know where to send your auditors fee That route is open again now, still temporary lights on though, and someone else has now shut Wingates lane, which is nowt to do with me but you can now get from the Reebok down to the A6 and vice versa. That closure may have to go on again sometime again in the next 6 weeks, but for now its back open.- Road Works
It was, officialy anyway, been a closure on it physicaly since the 11th, under order from the 4th but the snow put a stop to any work, the barriers/ cones etc kept getting fucked off by people, so sometimes it was open 'til someone could get back to close it again, thats why there is fencing and sand bariers now, which still keep getting moved by someone, someone with a 4x4 I would say as they are even driving over the shit thats piled there and the trench. If it was on until end of March, there would now be crash barier bolted to the road to stop this, but its coming off Monday, so its not worth it now.- Road Works
that closure will be gone Monday Dinner time was suppose to be up until end of March but its coming off Monday (at time of posting anyway!) just out of intrest, cos i deal with this everyday, you say you dove down past Barnstormers, did you not see or take any notice of the repeated signs saying "road ahead closed" which are placed from the lights and all the way down past Watsons until you get to the barier and the "road closed" sign? - Bradford Rd/st Peters Way Lights
