I don’t know who was on it to be honest , thought some of the first were from Syria ? but you can claim asylum for loads of reasons other than fleeing war zones and there’s loads of reasons why you couldn’t start it at home it’s the fact the general process is we are processing them in Rwanda and won’t know if they're genuine or not that doesn’t sit right with me .

The fact whether they are genuine or not is determined in Rwanda , where they’ll then stay if they are. we are not just sending illegal immigrants we are sending genuine asylum seekers, sending them to a place where our own government complained on human rights grounds about peoples treatment then we bring in some from Rwanda just doesn’t sit right with me and doesn’t make sense either, though agree with stopping the dinghies somehow, I just don’t think this is the way .

Not many claim asylum in their own country mate my point is, the decision on whether they are legally entitled or not is done in Rwanda , so, genuine asylum seekers are sent from here to Rwanda before it’s established , not because they’re illegal.

If they’re illegal then they’re sent wherever back home it’s not just illegal immigrants being sent there or economic migrants as people keep saying. The process to determine only happens in Rwanda , a country who Britain complained about human rights abuses of victims of people trafficking months before this deal was signed. something needs doing about the dinghies, but this isn’t it .

Listened to that and she was on shortly after Simon Coveney was interviewed, leaving the politics aside ( and I’m no real fan of Coveney) but the difference in quality how both conducted themselves and spoke was palpable . Bloke from the union on the radio says the rail companies re structure of costs basically amounts to fire and re hire on worse terms and conditions as well as reducing numbers after rail workers worked the pandemic and no pay rise for years etc etc rail companies blame the fall in passengers due to the pandemic for needing to do this. Union say it’s to maintain the profits of the companies from the current numbers by paying everyone less. he’d obviously have a slant and I’ve no idea , but if the rail want to do that as he he described then no wonder they’re pissed off . never a fan of strikes but even the threat of it has brought it to peoples attention and on the table .

I’ve just come back , T1 last Sunday for a 2pm flight, arrived 11:30 and was through security in 20 minutes back in last night at 6:30 , 10 mins through passport control, 15 mins wait for my bag that had ti be checked on due to being too big for the return even though it was the same bag I brought out 🤷‍♂️ didn’t seem busy at all though . Second time in as many months I’ve been at the airport, not seen any queues or issues to be honest .
