  1. Draining water traps on Diesel engines in winter cleaning out the drums of cement mixers cleaning the canteen Cleaning the waste oil bund my apprenticeship was constant shit jobs but somehow learnt the ropes too
  2. Not me but a lad I worked with. both 1st year apprentices in plant hire. tasked with rebuilding an engine from a generator. had it on the test bench and started it up, minus the generator, little trickle of oil on the outside edge of the wheel, because we’ve not put the seal in quite right . flywheel going so fast on a running engine can look still and the film of oil just making a complete ring around the edge . even struggling to type this as I remember him putting his finger in a rag and on to the flywheel to wipe it off . Last thing he ever did with the tip of that finger and not much else with that hand for a while 🤢 the generator did get fixed and go out and earn though
  3. Who were allied to… and some surprising news, Germany, who you earlier said their reunification had been a success( even though you also said you were happy with the old order ) and presume you’d be happy to back if Russia invaded , well they were allied to Germany… sweeping simplicity in your reasons, history of these places doesn’t start in 1939
  4. Happy with the old order.. so east Germany , Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia re united and all back behind the iron curtain then? or just a version of the old order ?
  5. Don’t know what to make of this trained dolphins with weapons ?? https://metro.co.uk/2022/04/28/russia-uses-spy-dolphins-to-guard-black-sea-navy-base-from-ukrainian-divers-16553023/?ito=facebook|social|metroukfacebook&fbclid=IwAR1Zpexz1vHSInnjSPybU227QkbYCul117lUAaTGH6ajA6TowZCv_906iLU
  6. That the new development over by the top bull way ? hearing there’s loads of objections to that from within Bury Council itself . and nesting birds are protected from being disturbed but anti nesting netting isn’t , get on it 😉
  7. I have seen the caravan storage one on New house Farm but not seen that one off Tarbet/ Torridon there’s been nothing on that patch for years , not sure how they’d create access to it like , just 4 ginnels into now , but you never know , you could fit a car down them just. this part of Breightmet must be the only sprawling estate without a kids play park thinking of it, kids can’t access a park without crossing Bury rd or down to Long Lane.
  8. Rather them build on the town hall square than on the Wyresdale football pitches as planned ! be voting for the present incumbent as she’s been very visible on this and works hard on other issues, but it’s a Bolton at home development that seems to have answers for every objection so another 94 houses looks likely
  9. Cut off gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-europe-61224804
  10. Exactly, security bloke told me the pictures of people outside where people arriving a 6am for 4pm flights , like little whitts son in law 😀
  11. Bigger queues here for ale 😁
  12. Arrived at T1 bag drop this morning 6am, bags dropped and through security to departure lounge by 6:45. No problem here at all
  13. Rwanda The same country that the same government raised concerns at the UN in 2021 about their failure to conduct transparent investigations into human rights violations for those in custody , including death in custody centres and failure to identify and protect victims of human trafficking in government detention centres , is now the place we will send people looking for help. might make it less attractive proposition I suppose, and will no doubt be popular with some , but fucking hell its not in the historic tradition of this country and the fact it’s a decision made by people who wouldn’t be here had their own forbears not received a refuge makes it even worse.
  14. The Wild Rover and it Bolton Wanderers Bolton wanderers fc …
  15. Very good
  16. Possible more demand since the red diesel ban last week? I don’t know that, just a presumption , know we ordered 30000 Ltr of white that we wouldn’t normally and that’ll be an ongoing situation now so possibly struggling to keep up with demand while everyone gets their tanks flushed and changed

Just tested negative today after first testing positive a week last Thursday , avoided it for the two years but got it now things more relaxed . Was rough as fuck from the Thursday to last Sunday, high temp, barking like a seal constantly and just drained . Felt great last Sunday, thought I was rid of it but tests had me positive until today . like you, glad I’d had the vaccine because God knows what it would have been like those first few days without it. was a really weird feeling, freezing bones and hot skin is the only way I can describe it.
  18. Supposed to be going away on Friday. 11:10 the flight is, baggage drop says it’s open from 3 hrs before the flight and average security time is 4.5.. If that happens like that then I’ll surely miss the flight , hopefully won’t is it the same in all Terminals?
  19. All you show offs with your BMX’s i pleaded for one one year, everyone had one or was getting one , I wanted a mongoose but even a Raleigh Burner would have done, so long as it was BMX . my dad was like the “ I was right about that saddle though “ bloke, said they were shit, no mudguards , gears or lights , wouldn’t go far on one etc . Thought he was bluffing , and that Christmas morning I’d come down to one, but no, there it was, a Raleigh Tiempo, sensible bike with full length mudguards, sturmey archer 3 speed gears , a fucking bell & reflectors and lights powered by a dynamo that was like switching an exercise bike up to 10 when you put it on and the main selling point to my dad, one of those mouse trap bag carriers and side panniers . I could have cried , in fact I may have done . in truth it was a much better bike than anyone in the street had, but it wasn’t cool and I couldnt join in with the cool kids doing bunny hops and 3 brick ramps or even do a wheelie . I just had to cycle around like a French onion seller on my own with lads laughing at me. my dads response of “ let’s see who’s laughing when they try go up Garstang ave with no gears eh” didn’t make it any easier to deal with
  20. It’s ridiculous in the fact that it’s supposed to be for the environment yet construction aren’t allowed rebated hvo fuel from tomorrow either so there’s no incentive to use cleaner fuels , the machines will still need to run, will burn just as much , it’ll just cost more Lot of companies will really struggle with this, even with things like security of remote machines that people will now know will be full to the brim with white and easy pickings. plus if you’ve got machines or contracts working between sectors , like say a machine used on a golf course maintenance which then goes to a construction site ,you are going to need two lots of fuel or two Or use white for both . personally think it’s going to come back and bite them
  21. Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but red diesel is illegal from tomorrow on construction sites ( amongst others ) for everything , from a mixer to a 40 t machine the cost to build maintain or repair anything is going to go up significantly and that’s only going to get passed on .
  22. Good. Glad I agree with your grandma 👍
  23. I’m no expert , but that doesn’t look real to me , all the helicopters explode the same ,even the fact the camera was able to close up on the one about to be shot, how would they know which was next ? might be wrong but don’t think it’s real
  24. £6 a pint for shit Guinness in Bolton??? I’ve paid less for good stuff in Dublin relatively recently, we’ll pre pandemic so 2 years or so but Jesus, 6 quid !!
