Well That Was A Bit Shit
On the positive side. Mark Davies was good. Megson's got another cracking signing there.

Well That Was A Bit Shit
Funniest game I've seen in ages, you lot are too serious, we're safe, and we were beforehand. If you wanted entertainment you could have found it, every bad touch from Muamba or terrible McCann pass was greeted by a little chuckle from me, instead of this booing malarky that doesn't help the players. Also Elmander worked harder than anyone yesterday, and for the first time SKD looked positively disinterested. Also, if Cahill is still at the club after next summer then it's a miracle.

Ref For Sunderland
Well, apparently, all the bad decisions in a season are evened out. So we're due a good 6 completely incorrect penalties in the next 3 games.

Barton; Yay Or Nay
We can get better players. For that more than anything it's a no.

Megson - Wanderers Urgently Need Reinforcements
I'd like both, to be honest.

Megson - Wanderers Urgently Need Reinforcements
Agreed, he needs someone who can be stood about 10 yards away from him when he wins the ball who he can give a quick pass to and start a counter. One of Muambas biggest problems, for me, is that he always seems to come into games near the end of them when everyone else is tired so he'll win the ball off them more. Problem is he's been running box-to-box for the past 80 minutes at that point and is tired so ends up giving the wrong pass. Yes, his shooting is shite, but plenty of good players have had a shit shot and played well. Also it doesn't help him when whenever he gets the ball about 20 yards shouts 'shoot' then moans when he does.

Megson - Wanderers Urgently Need Reinforcements
You're right he's poor at being an attacking player. But he wasn't really bought for that, he was bought to be a defensive player, unfortunately with players getting injuries and such he's had to fulfill a more attacking role which he doesn't excel at. The lad's 21 (and only just) give him time with Davies and another midfielder next year and you might just change your opinion.

Your Worst Ever
I've never got over Deano's miss, so for that alone it's gotta be that. At least we're now better than the Scarborough's etc. of the world and beaten the scum. Holdsworth scoring would have seen us in the last FA Cup Final at Wembley, as Satan said that can never happen again.

Megson And Hiddink
You are probably right there.I remember little but the fact we dicked them 2-0 of that day

Megson And Hiddink
We've also, so I've heard, conceded the least goals from corners this year in the League this year. Also, who do you propose we leave up. Elmander and Davies are good when defending crosses. Taylor hasn't got the pace to do it effectively and is gonna find it hard to play a killer ball with everyone behind him. So it's basically Gardner, who is being employed as the 'post-man'. Also, very few don't, I can only remember top 4 and Tottenham doing so at the Reebok, and that was with Aaron Lennon.

Wanderers V Villa
It's one of those where if it's for you, you say it's a penalty, if it's against you you say it's a shoulder barge, so I'm not that bothered about it. Actually, ref had a good game overall I thought. I also saw that poll, the fact that Knight isn't 100% proves that they have short term memories or are idiots.

Wanderers V Villa
I've seen it again and wish to revoke it, he didn't dive, he was pushed by Barry.
-
Wanderers V Villa
Surely the plan B was the 4-4-2 implemented second half, no? I felt Muamba and Elmander performed decently, personally. Especially as Elmander was at times rather isolated first half. MOM Cahill, would have been Cohen but for the disgraceful dive in the penalty area.

Who Said This?
It's probably been mentioned before, but many managers employ similar tactics, O'Neill will often talk up the opposition before a game, for me it more than often adds pressure to the opposition. For instance, had Megson said that Boro were 'a really shite team that deserves to go down', do you not think that they would play even better to beat the guy who had said that. Whereas if, as Megson did, Megson says "Villa are a really good that work really hard and have good players (paraphrased)" not only does it, in my opinion, pressure Villa's players a bit it also means that if they take the lead our players won't instantly drop their heads thinking 'we've really let the side down' instead that pressures off them and they can play a bit freer hopefully making less mistakes. Obviously alleviating pressure won't work with all players, players such as Gerrard seem to thrive under it, but if there's anyone that knows what makes these players tick I reckon it'd be the manager and coaches.

Trotters Have Lost All 12 Games Against The Current Top Six Clubs.
Is it just me that thinks we've been unlucky against a fair few of those teams? 4 last minute goals (Arsenal (home and away), Scum(H) and Everton(H)), a plain incorrect decision by an idiotic referee (Scum(A)), a possible goal to make it 1-1 at half time (Scousers (H)) and a deflection of one of our own players preventing a last minute equaliser(Chelsea(A))

The Pompey V Bolton Match Thread!
I'm not quite sure if you're being sarcastic cause that was my point.

The Pompey V Bolton Match Thread!
What about the man who got Allardyce to us? Or the one who recommended Coyle to Burnley? And yes we were awful. But, come on, this is Bolton Wanderers, we've ALWAYS had the ability to turn up and play awful, no matter who the manager is. First season they were up 5-ish games in to the season we turn up at their place and get tonked 4-0. It happens we'll get over it, West Brom, Boro and Hull/Sunderland/Barcodes'll go down and hopefully we'll improve next season. If we play shite next season and are seriously languishing near the bottom then we might get rid of Megson, not now!

The Pompey V Bolton Match Thread!
As in for 80 of the 90 both our most creative players weren't playing through injury. Made sense in my head at least.
-
The Pompey V Bolton Match Thread!
They were as good as we were against them at our place. It doesn't help that both of our two most creative players (Gardner and M.Davies) were injured for 80 mins of this game.

Rip
RIP to the 96, and the 33 at Burnden, and the 92 at Ibrox, the 56 at Bradford, the 39 at Heysel, and to all others who died through the hands of others watching the game they loved. God bless their souls.

Matty Taylor
Newcastle away, Nolan missed. Before that would probably be Wigan home last season, Anelka missed. Don't think we've scored a penalty in the last two years.
-
Matty Taylor
And let's not forget that that them three have had penalties galore to take as well. He'd be a shoo-in for Player of the Year if Kevin hadn't stuck in 12 already.

0-4 And....
I didn't mean he wasn't, but, now we're safe (in all but name), I'd like to give the future players more time together, especially as I don't see McCann here for much longer.
